This was such a fun and easy snorkeling spot. No currents pushing you around. You really don't need fins. Just float around from pool to pool. Plenty of fish. Not as much coral as the bay mentioned above but that's not a thrill for us. This was free. We paid WAY too much money by boat to see more of the same. Go here and save your money

Pros
Awesome snorkeling location with beautiful coral and fish
Plenty of parking
Portable potty on location (kind of gross though)

Cons
Kind of rough terrain to get out to tide pools
Hard to get into and out of pools because coral is super sharp (i got cut on my hands)

I recommend wearing cheap mechanics gloves for getting in and out of pools
Also, make sure that snorkel mask seals because this can be really annoying or bring swimming goggles as a backup. Also, get some anti fog wipes because after 10 minutes of snorkeling, goggles will fog.

Excellent coral, lots of fish. We saw a big sea turtle within 20 min of our first snorkel. The water is a little chilly. Warmer on the Kona side, but no where near as crowded. Clarity was very good. Saw a very cool sea slug and lots of sea cucumbers.

Lots of fish, some coral. Not as diverse and interesting as the flora and fauna in St. John or Palau

Amazing! Great for snorkeling! There is a suggested $3 charge to park, and it goes towards the upkeep of the area. The whole area is spotless. Some of the most gorgeous coral I've ever seen diving.
