These tide pools offer opportunity for different levels of snorkel explorers. There are deep pools for newer snorkels to explore with an abundance of fish. More experienced snorklers might feel comfortable in the shallower pools, but be careful coral is extremely sharp! Some areas have the volcanic heat offering a nice jacuzzi type reprieve, but also creates interesting visual blur. In areas the coral is fantastic and of variety. Probably the best snorkeling in the area.

Remember to never stand on coral, it will kill it. Also, sunscreen is a good idea, but put it on 20 minutes before you enter the water so you don't create an oil slick which is also detrimental to the sea critters.

The parking is a small lot in a residential area. Come early as it is crowded in the afternoon. The lot is maintained by a private group, make a donation, it's worth it.

These tide pools lived up to the rave reviews of others. Fish were not as abundant as some other sites we snorkeled, but were more diverse. Or perhaps I only saw more of them because it was so easy to stay in place in these pools since I wasn't being pushed around by the waves. Bring footgear like lava walkers.

The tide pools were great. Bring your snorkle and a pair of water shoes. This is a residential area so be mindful of that and be prepared to walk accross lava rocks to get to the pools.

Rented a house here for a week with my 4 kids. The water is a perfect temperature to snorkel in and see a wide variety of tropical fish. Water shoes are an absolute must because the lava is sharp. If your not staying here, there are places you can park your car at to go snorkeling all day if you want. The area is quiet and not touristy in the least. It's nice if you want some quality time with your family. We sure had a nice time.

It is like swimming in a aquarium! For beginners it is very easy to snorkel there. Take some water shoes with you as it is really rocky there.
