“Friendly and surprising”
Reviewed August 20, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

We were so lovely welcomed, we felt immediately at home. The dogs are so friendly and lovable. The condo was very spacious and we loved to use the outdoor shower with a view at the jungle. We went to see the lava with a boat: we recommend!
We could see in the air the glow of the lava from the condo!

“unique experience but the place needs TLC”

Good location for exploring the Western Big Island, close to Volcanoes NP and the best snorkelling on Hawaii. Good value and certainly a unique experience. Very friendly, accommodating host.
The place needs a bit of TLC however. Furniture worn, verandah roof leaking, antediluvian cutlery and crockery.

“fantastic house!”

The house is a little outside Pahoa, within 20-30 minutes drive from Hilo and the volcano park visitors center.
When we arrived, we found the house spotless clean and the fridge stocked with eggs (from the chicken on the property), beer, butter, and in the cupboards there were spices, oil, some rice and other useful stuff. In the garden (in pens) were dogs, miniature pigs and goats, and walking around were cats and chicken. The kids loved it...
The house is wonderful, with a large porch (with mosquito nets) and a jungle garden. Our only complaint were a few cockroaches (but all but one were outside) and that it rained a lot... I would recommend this place to anyone, and would visit Hawai´i again just to stay there!

Aloha, Mahalo for your review. We are happy you had a great stay! We are always working on geting rid of all bugs in the house, including roaches and will continue to do what we can in a safe and non-toxic way, using natural oils and traps.

“The best in farmhouse”

My partner and I had one of the best experiences staying at this wonderful farmhouse in the middle of the nature, surrounded by trees and amazing flowers all around the house.
There are three bedrooms all clean and perfectly organized with fresh towels and clean sheets.
Fresh fruits and and farm eggs are made available at your arrival for you to make breakfast the next day.
It is really quiet and peaceful and you can breath only pure and fresh air around this beautifully furnished historic home.
There is an amazing "outdoor shower" where you can have a very and relaxing bath surrounded by the nature.
It is a very convenient location and you can get all you need from 5 min drive in the little town and there is also a supermarket close by.
Danny (one of the owners) gives you all the info you need about tours and explorations.
We are really thankful to Danny because after we left we received a call from him when he found my engagement ring under the bed... ! He mailed it to our home immediately. Thank you for a very nice stay.

“Such an awesome and funky lil place - we loved it!”
Reviewed September 28, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

The Jungle Farm House is AWESOME! While no A/C, there were fans in every room and we slept comfortably. The kitchen is well appointed with cooking and eating utensils and many unique spices. We arrived to fresh eggs from the resident chickens and fruits from the surrounding trees for our breakfast. There were 2 bags of ice in the freezer, and when we told our host we forgot to pick up some coffee, he gave us HIS coffee! There were 20 chickens, 4 ducks, 4 goats, 2 dogs, and 1 pot-belly pig (Wilbur!) - all are very friendly. The owners, Daniel and Matthew, were on vacation during our stay, but their friend Paul was super nice and very accommodating. He showed us around the property; he was there if we needed him, but not otherwise intrusive. Be sure to explore the property! The flora and fauna are amazing... And when it gets dark - the jungle turns on - the nighttime sounds were incredible and we loved every minute! I would definitely stay here again if my travels took me this way.

“Completely Unique”
Reviewed May 21, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The Jungle farmhouse is an experience anyone who wants to infuse themselves in the Hawaiian lifestyle should book. The rainforest setting is beautiful and so relaxing. We loved the outside shower, the farm animals, and the lush tropical foliage. It was close to many great attractions - a unique black beach, amazing tide pools for snorkeling, and lava flows. It is an 45 minute drive to Volcano National Park so you can enjoy local attractions as well as spend days in this amazing park. The Sunday farmers market and historic village of Pahoa are fun places to walk around. So if you want an experience that is unique and draws you into Hawaii this is the place to stay. Also, Danny and Matthew are incredibly helpful and do everything they can to make your stay amazing!

“Beautiful home and surroundings”
Reviewed March 5, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Great home and great host. We loved being on the screened in porch at night playing games and the other open porch in the morning having coffee and feeding the chickens and ducks bread crumbs. Very comfortable accomodations. The town of Pahoa is very interesting and close and great restraurants.
