Great food, marginal service. Kaleo's is one of the few quality games in town. We arrived about 6 and were seated right away. They have a young man who works the parking lot and also serves as a quasi-greeter. He parked us right in front and we walked right in. We were seated on the small enclosed outdoor area to the immediate right of the entryway. This seating area would be my choice if we were to return. My wife had the Lemon Chicken with Linguine. I had the fish of the day (Ono) which was offered in three different preparations. I chose the coconut crusted with lilikoi glaze. The Ono was wonderful and my wife described her meal as one of the best of her life. So the food part of the meal was spot on.
The service unfortunately was another matter. They were apparently very busy and not staffed to handle it. We were there on a Friday night so busy should be expected and a quality restaurant staffed to respond. Perhaps this was a one time occurrence but we had to wait 40 minutes for our meal. Additionally, our server never once stopped by to provide more water or really check on us in any meaningful way. I finally had to walk up one of the managers and speak to him about getting more water. Seldom, almost never, will I leave a nice restaurant without leaving a tip. This was the exception to the rule.
Tip: We noticed the live music was very loud inside the restaurant but was considerably less so in the enclosed outside area where we were seated. If you prefer a relatively quite dining experience (along with being outside) you may want to think about requesting one of these (few) tables.
