My husband and I booked a 'day at the beach' package with the Kona Boys. We had Jared as our guide for the day. We went kayaking and learned a lot about the Hawaii culture as we kayaker along. We came back to snorkel around the cove and saw lots of beautiful fish including yellow tangs and a sea turtle. We had lunch on the beach in our 2 beach chairs with umbrella that were set out for us for the day. They accommodated our dietary restrictions - gluten free, corn free vegan diet. We had a lovely lunch and rested a bit. Then we headed out stand up paddle boarding which was our favorite of the activities . Jared was our great guide and really helped us learn how to stand up paddle board and get the hang of it. The day at the beach package allows for snorkel gear all day so I'd recommend if you book this to spend little time with the snorkeling after you get the hang of it and spend your time using the kayak and stand up paddle board while you have that and the guidance there. We really enjoyed our day and guide. This is a day at the beach and has a laid back schedule based on what you want to do. We really liked this company - great location, right on the beach made things very easy. There are some adventures that were great experiences as well - look up WHOA (thrilling adventure and best money spent) & Sea Paradise for the Manta Ray Night Snorkel (underwater ballet).

we were booked for an outrigger tour at noon, but were told the wind was a bit too strong and suggested we wait as another couple were also scheduled that day. I'm glad we waited, we went out and were able to view a lot of dolphins. Kai and Kelsey were great.

we were very lucky in booking a sea kayak tour with Kona Boys(shop) in that we were the only couple for the 7:30am tour!!! "Jared" was our guide and his knowledge of the local history was very informative and entertaining. we had a half hour over the other tour operators for snorkeling around Kealakekua Bay(Captain Cook Monument). while we were snorkeling he would let other swimmers know the do's and don't's about protecting the coral reefs! we enjoyed this tour so much that we met him at the shack the following Wednesday for a SUP lesson.. would book again without hesitation!! thanks Jared and Lizzy!

We talked to John, and we ended up going on the outrigger canoe with Kalani. They were both just great! They were knowledgeable and fun to talk to. We learned a lot about the island and had a great time snorkeling. Lunch was good too. They set us up quickly and we had a great time. It was good to have a small group (6 of us) and to get out to Captain Cook's bay before all the other snorkelers got there. We had a really enjoyable time. Kalani was a great guide! Thanks for everything!

the best place to get guides who are friendly, knowledgeable, and worth it. don't hassle trying to figure out where to kayak - let these guys do the work, and bring lunch for you too. the capt. cook story is great, and you get to feel a part of history by kayaking and snorkeling here. it's gov't mandated on how long you can spend here, but regardless, it's sort of hard to get here on your own. book w/ the boys of kona
