A wonderful stop on the way to see the volcano. 20 acres of trellised coffee trees.....similar to a vineyard. The coffee is so delicious......sitting on the lanai (porch) enjoying the most spectacular panoramic ocean view with whales jumping and smelling the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. A wonderful tour of the plantation. Truly a special stop! And don't forget the "rub" for grilling steaks......Also so much ALOHA spread to each visitor by the Kona Joe's staff.

We had picked Kona Joe as one of our stops on our 'coffee touring day' as we were intrigued by the 'trellis grown' coffee. Driving down the long driveway and parking, you have NO idea what awaits you until you walk down the stairs to the tasting room. They have an unsurpassed view of the Kona Coast, there is nothing blocking the view of the ocean and you can see plants and greenery float below you all the way to the ocean. They have a great open patio and we enjoyed their trellis grown coffee and enjoyed a few minutes relaxing. The coffee is yummy, we took a bag home. I have to agree with other reviewers, run, do not walk, to this place. The view and the experience will stay with you!

We were traveling through looking for a place to do some coffee tasting and we happen to see a sign for Kona Joe Coffee, so we stopped for a visit. The view of this 32 acre coffee plantation and the ocean was spectacular. The coffee tasting reminded us of our wine tasting in Napa / Sonoma, and the way the coffee was grown on trellises also was similar to that of how grapes are grown. The service was excellent and very informative. We are coffee drinkers and and we rarely drink our coffee black but we thought we'd give it a try. To our amazement, the varieties we tried were excellent. Hard to compare but it is almost like wine tasting but w/ coffee. We loved it so much that we had coffee/ and chocolate covered coffee beans shipped.

We happened to just pass by this place on a leisurely drive while honeymooning on The Big Island. We did not take the tour but I can tell you the view from this place and the coffee are both amazing. We stopped in several times to hit the coffee bar there, and bought a bag to take home. I am no coffee expert, I actually rarely ever drink it but this place changed my mind on coffee. If you're in the area it's a nice place to stop, they have free tastings, and the tour of course, but the view alone is breathtaking and makes for great photos, also seeing the coffee growing on the trellises is pretty cool!
