This home was THE most idyllic, ever so slightly remote, perfect location for peaceful, relaxing days and picture-perfect evenings! We could have the calming peace and spirit of true Hawaii and yet, if we wanted more people or more touristy activities, it was just an easy drive to Hilo, Volcano National Park, the Macadamia Nut Farm, farmers markets, and even the green and black sand beaches! What a beautifully diverse Island! The views from inside the house and the back patio were spectacular and we spent most of our time out there admiring the sunrises and the spectacular sound of crashing waves on the volcanic rock back yard. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly want. All we needed to bring was food! The welcome basket was such a nice surprise too! It felt like they thought of even the smallest things to make us comfortable! The house was beautifully furnished and decorated and was more than enough room for the 5 of us. The house felt welcoming, comfortable and very much like home! Wish we were there a month earlier as we missed the humpbacks, but were able to see the sea turtles, crabs and dolphins! Guess we will just have to come back earlier next time! Would recommend Mika Kai in a heartbeat! It was VERY hard to leave!
Excellent house with gorgeous views. Spacious with room for all 8 of us with lots bathrooms. House had everything you needed for cooking and recreation. We all loved the house
We really loved waking up to the sound of waves, watching the sun rise off the lava deck and seeing dolphins, turtles and whales in the ocean. The house was south of Hilo which was great for sightseeing and close to the Volcanoes National Park. The deck, pool and hot tub were great for relaxing and family time. We appreciate Ingrid sharing the house with us and Juanita answering our questions during our stay. We'll never forget the Big Island and Mika Kai.
