Charming and authentic old-time cowboy/ranch decor. The old photos of the Parker ranch in action are an interesting historical touch. Food was very good, fairly straight-forward but with some twists. Especially enjoyed the coffee marinated brisket and the coconut coated calimari! Staff is very pleasant, and on a Saturday night in September it was not at all crowded, but the bar is a very popular "locals" place.

While stay at a seaside resort on the big island we decided to venture out into the countryside for looks and eats. We found the Broiler on the GPS and decided to stop. The place is cowboy ranch style like we find in New Mexico. We were the only people in the restaurant and was greeted by a very friendly staff who were fun to visit with. We made our order and it arrived as ordered. My wife had the fish and chips. They were very good made with local fish not the unknown mystery fish you get at some places. I ordered the Kona Coffee Beef Brisket. It sounded good and I was not disappointed. As local raised beef it was very tender, no knife needed, and the real mashed potatoes were very good. The food was good and for the area the price was in the ball park. The nice lady who waited on us, Louanne, was able to tell us about the area and gave us pointers on where to eat and visit. We would recommend this place to our friends. As an additional comment, our server found out it was our 40th anniversary and presented is with a piece of very delicious cake. Made the evening meal special.

We were in search of the Parker Ranch Museum, which several sites stated it was in the Parker Ranch Shopping Center. Unable to find it, we decided to stop in at the Parker Ranch Store. Greeting us in the entry way was the owner of The Broiler Restaurant. He asked if he could help us. After giving us great advice (the museum has been closed for years), we decided to have lunch at the restaurant. We were not disappointed! My husband had the loco moco special and I had the brisket sandwich. We both enjoyed our selection; even purchased 2 bottles of their barbeque sauce....some of the best we've ever had! In all, we enjoyed our visit to The Broiler and do plan to return when we're in town again.

Three of us had dinner here, it was okay but not fantastic. I thought my steak was a bit on the fatty side but the taste was good and the other meals were fine too. The desert definitely let them down, by the time we ate there was one choice ... strawberry cheesecake with not a strawberry in sight. The base was fine, there was a definite taste of mascarpone cheese but the topping was strawberry jelly! Hey ho, maybe they're just not big on deserts but the waitress was pleasant and attentive. We visit Hawaii most years, will we return to eat here? maybe.

This was our first stop at the Broiler and it won't be our last! We were welcomed like family into a lovely setting with an amazing fireplace which made for a very cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent! Husband had the special of furikake crusted ahi with salad and I had the brisket (braised for 12 hours) with a fabulous BBQ sauce. They had no problem with accommodating our dietary restrictions. We will be back!
