Second time at this restaurant but we won't return. First a $3 split charge for dividing a $13 appetizer salad in the kitchen. No bread until we asked (brought to other tables without asking). But the reason for our rating was the response to our comments about one of our 2 main courses. One was very good but the meat on the second was gristly and fattty (mostly not edible) and when pointed out to the waiter, he said he'd inform the chef. No response at all..

This was a perfect place for our vacation. Found by accident, it was a teriffic place for a memorable dinner and dining experience. Food, excellent - service, excellent. The Mai Tai's were the best sampled on the island!

We got the Pork Sandwich and Chili Cheese Fries. If we had to do it over again we would have gotten 2 pork sandwiches. The sandwich was fantastic one of the better ones on the island I tried, and the quantity was huge. We were hoping to try one of their deserts as they looked great but had no room after the huge lunch.

The decoration is hawiian road side diner (imagine that), and a fun touch of the drinks being in jars.

A little more expensive then I would have liked but well within the norm for Hawaii. Definitely a good stop in Waimea.

happened to find this on our last day. We both ordered the fish of the day and had two excellent entrees. The restaurant was not busy so we had a table right up against the windows overlooking the practice green. A very pleasant lunch.

We went to the Huli Sue's in the Gallery location at Mauna Lani. The menu is more limited than the main location (no coconut cake!) but certainly adequate, with a good range of choices. We had the lime soup and goat cheese spinach salad (beware the heat on the mac nuts!) to start, followed by the ribs. The rib portions were huge, accompanied by a baked potato and really good slaw. The only negative was that the ribs were very, very "saucy" and we prefer a little less sauce, but they were very tender and lean.
