“Welcome surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2011

Having heard the prior incarnation, Fujimamas, was fish-heavy (leave the poor fish alone!) and expensive, we were dubious yet curious about the new incarnation, Redwater Inn. It exceeded all expections. Each dish was delish, the wine was interesting, and the only surprise was how good everything was. They gladly customized meat treatments, and the waiter was smart and personable. We look forward to the next "special occasion" spent there. (But would recommend a slicker sign.)

“Great food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2011

This is now the Redwater Cafe. We were curious about the full parking lot at all times if the day. Portions were delectable and perfect for sharing. Local variations on traditional dishes, friendly service, and a nice wine list. A delightful surprise in Waimea.

we'd would have eaten here every night of our visit, but we were never in the same spot at dinner time. loved our meal here. our kids loved their meals here. the waiter we had was great. wish i could remember his name. we ran into him a couple of days later and his wife was in labor having their first child. don't drive by this restaurant without having a meal first.

“OK lunch, nothing to brag about”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2010

Shared the cesar salad since it is too big for just one person. Menu nor waitress mentioned the dressing was classic anchovie and I didn't care for it. Husband enjoyed his steak tartar very much and said it was cooked perfectly. He also ordered a very spicy Bloody Mary, which he commented that it very well could be the best Bloody Mary on island. I ordered the braised eggplant in pork sauce and was underwhelmed by the dish. Nothing stood out about it and I was bored. I think what disappoints me the most about lunch at Fujimamas is that all the vegitarian dishes came with some kind of curry. This is not entirley Fujimamas fault since most restaurants do this, and frankly, I am sick and tired of curry.

“Quiet, intimate, fine Asian/fusion dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2009

Asian/fusion dishes. Fantastic fish, lamb, and pork entrees. Delicious seafood chowder. Killer poke and sushi appetizers. Very good service, including a wait staff and kitchen staff cheerfully willing to cater to a specific allergy request (sesame, which was ordinarily included in several dishes). Top-notch dining experience. We all left happy and full, and will go back again.
