“The best basil/shrimp friend rice!!!”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

Nice, tidy little restaurant, with SUPER sushi (try the Fuji Roll!) And you just HAVE TO HAVE the basil shrimp fried rice...to die for!
They have steak, oriental style soups (YUM!) - great service and a really great, varied menu!! Excellent!

“Great local good and service ”
Reviewed March 28, 2014 via mobile

Excellent local food. Great service and smokey jazz added to ambience on a Friday night. Our only low points were lack of beer on tap and desert...miss the cheese cake. Don't miss the ceviche!

“Great lunch stop”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

Stopped here on our way from Hilo to the Kona side. The food was delicious. Prepared with loads of local produce, meat and fish. Had the Rueben. It was a big sandwich and broke da mouth delicious. My wife had a bowl of saimin loaded with seafood delicacies and was shocked by the size of the portion. A nice selection of beers, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. Waimea has a load of great eateries and this another one to add to that list.

“Great local business!”

Stopped on our drive back from Hilo after a day of sightseeing.
Refreshing restaurant with quality food and genuine service.
These type of places keep traveling unique rather than mundane.

“Would have passed right by”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

We were driving through Waimea and were stopped at a light. A local guy stopped beside us, motioned to my wife to roll down the window and asked if we needed any help, directions or a recommendation for lunch. We had just been thinking about lunch and he strongly recommended the Red Water Café and gave us directions.

We found the restaurant easily although had we not known about it we might easily have driven right by. The parking lot was full, usually a good sign.

On entering we found the interior to be larger than it appeared from the outside, nicely decorated and full of patrons, both visitors and locals. We were lucky enough to get the last table available.
Our server was attentive and friendly, happy to take time to discuss a few options on the fairly extensive menu. She returned in no time with a couple of glasses of house wine. Our meals were large and very tasty, wife had an excellent salad and I had the pastrami sandwich, which I really enjoyed. This is a really busy place with a friendly buzz in the atmosphere. The hostess stopped by a couple of times to make sure all was ok, a good sign in my opinion.

When we left we were full, happy and really grateful for the advice from our friendly driver.
