“Great Farmers Market!”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

On Wednesday Parker Ranch hosts a mid-day farmers market.
Its a great place to grab some delicious food and pick up some local organic veggies.
Also there are all kinds of crafts and other goodies available to buy.
Its a great way to take a little piece of Waimea home with you.

“Skip the tourist stuff... See the actual ranch.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

We have been through all the tourism stuff related to Parker Ranch, but if you really want a treat drive out on the Ranch road "Mauna Road" to see beautiful views, and cattle lining the road side. The grass is lush, and cattle are fat and happy, you can see why this Ranch operation was such a success!

“Beautiful drive through grazing land”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

The Parker Ranch was a highlight of our Big Island vacation. Driving the Mamalahoa Hwy early morning was a treat for the senses. Beautiful sights around every bend of the road! Growing up in a cattle ranching family I'd heard about the Parker Ranch and had been intrigued by the stories of the ranch since childhood. Visiting the Puuopelu Headquarters, the ranch estate, was very interesting. With few others visiting this day we had plenty of time and opportunity to enjoy the grounds and visit the Mana Hale house. So much history! The art collection in the main home is very impressive. Views of the mountains, rose gardens and lake are lovely.
This is a busy working cattle ranch consisting of approximately 130,000 acres. There are about 19,000 head of cattle, Angus and Charolais breeds. The video shown at the Mana House is interesting and shows a realistic display of cattle ranching practices. It's easy to spend a few hours here just taking in all the animals and natural beauty of this part of the Big Island. Very helpful, friendly staff too.

“Grounds are pretty”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

This is a Big Island institution. The Parker Ranch was founded in 1847 and is one of the oldest ranches in the United States. The house tour was okay. My mom enjoyed seeing some works by Erte. There is a video tour and you can walk around the grounds, which were nice. I liked the little house that was made of Koa wood. Of course, we had to stop at the Parker Ranch store so my daughter could get a 'Paniolo' hat.
