We headed out early to try the famous malasadas at Tex's. Luck was with us, and only one outside table was taken with a couple of locals. The lady was happy to chat and tell us all about the establishment and what we should order. We ended up with the full breakfast of eggs, wonderful crispy bacon, delicious ham, rice, hash browns, juice, kona coffee and FOUR malasadas ( 2 to go)
They lived up to their reputation..freshly cooked , presented warm with filling inserted according to your choice ( about 6 available). All were very very yummy.
As we enjoyed the breeze outdoors and our food, the place became more and more busy.
By the way, there is a clean bathroom and a pretty cute little gift shop on premises.
Happy and sorta stuffed, we had to request sturdy horses for our morning excursion in waipio valley....!!
