My wife and I recently visited the Big Island and started-off at the Waianuhea B&B - accomodations were great, the property is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff are friendly and knoweldgeable. The breakfasts are amazing, the best we've experienced at a B&B. The locaton is a bit removed, but that's what we were looking for - some peace and quiet! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As reflected in the vast number of positive sentiments conveyed by previous reviewers, yes, Waianuhea is special. Very comfortable and thoughtfully managed. It sits astride lonely country roads that are great to walk or jog on, and is in a great location to stargaze in the evenings (if cloudless). Fantastic meals (definitely go with Peter's dinners; he can personalize according to dining preference, and we found his dinners a better overall experience than anything we've had elsewhere on the Big Island). We will absolutely stay here again!

My wife and I spent our first two nights on Hawaii at Waianuhea. It was a great way to start our vacation. The locale is wonderful and the service superb. Randi is a gracious and knowledgeable host. We had Valentine's Day dinner prepared by chef Peter. He went out and got fresh fish that day- it was superb. One note- the A'ala room is quite small. I would opt for one of the other rooms,if available. All in all it was a great experience and we would highly recommend it.

This is a lovely, elegant place in a very unique setting. The attention to detail is impressive -- magnifying mirrors in the bathrooms, postcards with stamps on them provided and mailed for you!
The breakfasts and schedule ahead dinners (ala Peter) are scrumptious. They provide a great cocktail hour with fantastic appetizers paired with equally amazing wines. There is a fully stocked guest kitchen available round the clock.
Their robes and slippers are extremely comfy and the hot tub is great for unwinding and star gazing at night. A walk on or off property will afford you encounters with wild turkeys, goats, horses, cows and alpacas.
The staff felt like old friends. They are very open, engaging and helpful. We kept Randy's hand drawn map of the forest preserve walk. It is going in the scrapbook.
I'm sure we will travel there again, but next time with family and friends. We loved Waianuhea B & B and everyone there.

We stayed here for four nights in October for our honeymoon. What an incredible place! First off, I loved driving up the rough winding road up to the B+B (although my wife was a little nervous). Driving here from Kona, the scenery is absolutely incredible. When you finally get there, you really feel like you've arrived somewhere special. There's plenty to do in the area and it's not too far from Waimea, which has some really great resaurants. The B+B itself is beautifully decorated and we really enjoyed drinking wine out in the living room and soaking in the bathtub at night. My wife found the breakfasts a little heavy but I really enjoyed them. This is a place we definitely would love to go back to. There's something special, not only about this B+B, but the whole Honokaa area that makes staying here an amazing experience.

Our stay at Waianuhea Bed & Breakfast this Thanksgiving holiday was absolutely wonderful. Everyone there made our stay a most memorable and delightful one. From the delicious breakfasts to our special ordered Thanksgiving dinner by Chef Peter and the wine and appetizer hour for the guests that allow all to meet and intermingle was outstanding. The location and house lends itself in a beautiful and restful area above Honokaa. The house has an open and airy feeling with lots of skylights and windows to view the beautiful grounds and occasional wildlife. WE recommend the Malamalama room which has the best views in the house and is a jr. suite with a large soaking tub. Most outstanding though are the people that work there to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as one could imagine.
