“Best hosts, best location, best value!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2014

We stayed for 5 nights at Waipio Rim as part of our honeymoon. The location is in possibly the most beautiful spot on the Big Island and you cannot get tired of the view of the ocean, valley, cliffs and waterfalls. The guest house is complete separate from the main house and you have a lot of privacy. The place is immaculate with attention to detail everywhere you look.

The location is a bit away from everything, but the nearby town of Honokaa surprisingly has a well stocked supermarket where you can get pretty much everything that you need. Waimea isn't that far away either. However the location is something that adds to the character of the place, especially if you want to get away from it all. There is a great hike down to the black sand beach which if done leisurely can fill an entire day.

We read some comments about "rain forest noise" of birds and frogs but we both slept better here than we had in years. Steve and Nancy have earplugs but the sounds of nature, frogs, birds and waves were things that are pleasant to fall asleep and wake up to, right? The atmosphere simply forces you to relax and unwind.

However what stood out the most were the hosts, Steve and Nancy. They were extremely attentive and made sure that everything was perfect. They also went far out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfect and provided all sorts of extra perks. They are very respectful of privacy and make sure that you have everything that you need and more. They also gladly provided advice on things to do and provided beach and snorkeling gear. The breakfasts didn't disappoint either and were better than any restaurant that we have been to.

We would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody, whether you are a couple on your honeymoon, anniversary or anything at all. It is far better than any hotel where you are just one out of hundreds of other guests; here you are someone special.

Many thanks to Steve and Nancy for making our stay unforgettable. We hope to come back someday!

We picked a wonderful place to stay to kick off our Hawaii vacation! Our only issue, a regret really, was that we didn't stay longer. Although we got in late, stayed one night and were off before lunch, Steve and Nancy made our stay memorable and very welcoming. We recommend Waipio Rim highly!!!

We could only would recommend this B&B to anyone.
stay one night, but this is one place you must stay if you come to the Big Island. Make sure you get directions because it can be hard to find and it is at the end of the road. The view is stunning, the accommodations are first class and the breakfast is terrific. The complementary bottle of wine and appetizers we received upon arrival were greatly enjoyed as we gazed at the magnificent view and watched the sun go down and then later sat in the moonlight. Steve and Nancy were great hosts and made us feel right at home. All the birds singing around our balcony was also enjoyable. We would definitely like to come back and

Steve and Nancy have found a truly magical spot on this earth. The rest of us are lucky that they have kind, generous spirits and want to share Waipio Rim with others. We had a fantastic time exploring and hiking the area. The accommodations are *sparkling clean*, breakfast was delicious (esp. the coffee - nice and robust!) the hosts are generous and helpful, and the view is truly breathtaking - I still can't wrap my mind around the precious few days we had here.

This space is best for independent travellers wanting a unique, adventurous, and yet slightly more quiet experience.

The best summary I can offer is that it felt like vacationing in Neverland. Truly fantastic.

If your wanting a "One of a Kind" experience, this place is for you! It's at the end of the road and that means privacy at it's best. Steve and Nancy, what can I say but they were incredible hosts, coffee and tea delivered when we woke and then later a scrumptious breakfast. Oh how we hated to leave and would love to go back. The view was what brought us there and I had showed my husband on the net what it was like but when we arrived he was speechless and was totally blown away with the view.

This was our first ever stay at a bed and breakfast and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. Amazing location and views, fantastic hosts, terrific breakfasts, great room and so much more. We stayed 3 nights but could have easily spent our entire vacation here. It's very peaceful and there's plenty in the area to explore. Thank you so much for hospitality Steve and Nancy! We hope to be back someday.

This place is beyond words! We had the priviledge of spending 5 beautiful nights at the Waipio Rim B&B and get married there during our stay. It was perfect. Not only is the view awe-inspiring, but what makes this place so special are definitely Steve and Nancy (the owners). The room is lovely and you can tell first glance how much effort they put into it, right down to the tiniest details. The breakfast is to die for and being able to eat such delicacies whilst overlooking the 1,000ft cliffs is an experience that we'll never forget. And as if that wasn't enough already, Steve and Nancy are just really incredibly nice and lovely. After our ceremony (which was right there in the garden with just the two of us), they brought out a bottle of champagne for a toast :)
We were sad to leave and can't wait to return! If you ever get the chance to be in that part of the world and are looking for an experience outside of fancy resorts that will leave you breathless with natural beauty and true aloha spirit, then definitely give the Waipio Rim B&B a try. We're so glad we did!

Room Tip: Only one room and it's perfect!
