We stopped at Hula Daddy's not knowing what to expect. When we went in we were warmly greeted by the two employees working there. There were 2 coffees available for tasting. We had a cup of each and sat down to enjoy the amazing view from the tasting area. After enjoying the coffee it was only my wife and I there we were given a private tour of the facility. We were brought down to the trees and were shown what ripe coffee beans look like, and how they are picked. Then to the roaster to see how beans are roasted. After this we went back to the tasting area and were offered any coffee they had in house. We tried 2 other types. It was great. There was no pressure to buy their coffee, but it was so good you had too. Between how great the coffee was, how great the staff was, and how great the view was from the tasting area I do not think you should pass this place up. You can also buy coffee and have it shipped home at a reasonable price. This is what we did..

It was a pleasure to take my whole family to Hula Daddy Kona Coffee on the big island of Hawaii. I called before arriving and they agreed to stay beyond closing time until we were able to get there. Our hostess, Debbie was thoroughly familiar with the entire operation. Her personality made it clear that she enjoyed her involvement in the US coffee business and was knowlegeable with all of the steps in raising the coffee beans, picking them, roasting them, and marketing the finished project. Our visit was a total joy for the whole family which ranged in age from 10 to 70.

Had a great little tour at Hula Daddy Kona Coffee. They took us around therir farm and explained how the coffee beans are grown and how they get from the trees to your cup. Small family feel that is about 10 minutes up the hill from Bubba Gumps. I highly reccomomend this tour for anyone looking for a Kona Coffee Tour The samples are excellent and they even brewed us a sample of their dessert coffee when we asked.

We stopped at the first coffee grower on the famous road in the mountains above Kailua-Kona and were pleasantly surprised to be greeted by the owner, Karen of Hula Daddy Coffee. We knew nothing about coffee farming, so her personal guided tour of the fields, roasting house and reception area that overlooked the ocean and her coffee plantation was a perfect way to spend a couple hours sampling her gourmet coffees and enjoying her and her husband's 'aloha'. I heartedly recommend Hula Daddy's Coffee and their plantation tour!
