Brand new, Takenoko Sushi opened it's door last week. The owner, Mitsuru, is from Japan and has worked in sushi restaurants in Chicago, Honolulu and now has a place of his own. The sushi is delicious! Just had the shirashi for lunch. The seafood was super fresh and the dish was reasonably priced. Caution, this quaint restaurant seats only 8 so reservations, especially for dinner, is a must. He decided against a liquor license so you can bring in your own alcoholic beverages. In search of good sake in Hilo, check out Kadota's liquor or the main KTA Supermarket.
