We were staying in Hilo for several days; after having one dreadful breakfast in our hotel we’ve decided to find something better and we found a gem named Moonstruck Patisserie. This is a top quality pastry cafe in the Hilo historic downtown. There are very few tables, which I believe allows the owner – Jackie – to keep the amazing quality of the pastries. I had individual size quiche Florentine and chocolate croissant – both were unbelievably delicious. Fresh French-pressed coffee – just perfect, not too weak, not too strong. Place is very clean, nicely decorated, and the owner is most pleasant person. It does look like the quality is her first and foremost priority. We were so pleased, that next day we came back for another breakfast. I’d advise to get in early (café opens at 8:30) - all theses delicious quiches, croissants, etc. go fast.
