My teenage son and I wanted to spend some time touring Volcano National Park on the Big Island and thought a bike ride tour would give us a chance to do that. We are not avid bikers but do pedal occasionally. But the Bike Volcano group makes sure all level riders are comfortable. They spend some time getting your gear and equipment right for you and then make sure everyone in the group is ready and safe to go. Our guide was Brendan and he did an AMAZING job. He is a recent geology graduate so he really knows (and loves) "rocks" and lava. We stopped often and heard all about the sights and history at that location. They fed us snacks at almost every stop and provided water with every bike. We did some uphill pumping but most of the ride was downhill. At the end of the tour, we decided to go back to the National Park and visit the spots we missed -- and discovered Brendan had taken us to all the best parts of the park during our 4-hours with him! So it was a really thorough tour of the Park, along with a very knowledgeable guide. This tour was close to the end of our two-week vacation (which included some really impressive scuba diving), so when my son said this tour was in his top three favorite things we did on this vacation, I knew it was a WINNER!

My husband and I, along with our 3 children (ages 7, 9, 12) joined Jim and Pretty from Bike Volcano. This is a great way to see a lot of beautiful sites of Kilauea. The youngest did not really take to riding on the bike attachment behind my husband (she had never been on one of those before). Unfortunately, there were no bikes small enough for her. However, she LOVED her time in the van "helping" Pretty. Our other 2 children did great, and the tour was a good level for most. Jim and Pretty were both wonderful, informative, entertaining, and patient.

Another positive review for Jim and Pretty. Jim did a great job sharing his love of the volcano and the land with us. Pretty made sure the bikers stayed safe and shared stories, culture, and history. They both handled a wide range of questions with patience and obvious deep subject matter expertise. We drove Chain of Craters Road by ourselves in a long afternoon (with some hiking out and back) and the next day the bikes provided a nice change of modality with the value-add of Jim and Pretty's easy expertise guiding us along. After learning that lava can sometimes take the form of hair-like strands, Jim brought us out and made sure we each found some! As for adventure biking, there was a tiny strip of singletrack where a sidewalk had worn, essentially, and the big-finish curving downhill stretch was a lot of fun! Great gear, snacks, drinks, BikeVolcano.com even had rain ponchos in the van just in case!

We had a great time on this excursion. The "eye-candy" was amazing as one would expect. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly as was our driver/host. The bike tour was well paced with some challenges as well as an amazing downhill finish. We were provided with excellent mountain bikes that appeared to be in very good condition The van was always nearby with our personal belongings and some refreshments

My wife and I had a great time with Jim and Pretty doing the HVNP tour with Bike Volcano. The scenery was spectacular and impressive.

The bike ride was relaxing and not strenuous at all. Several stops were made to point out facts and information about the volcanoes and the histories of different eruptions. Jim was a terrific guide and knew so much about the plants and animals. He was the perfect guide for this adventure. Pretty made sure all the gear was in order and passed along some of her own stories and information that brought the Hawaiian culture and history surrounding the volcanoes to life.

Can't recommend it enough- great way to see HVNP and its highlights in a condensed amount of time. Thanks Bike Volcano!
