“Unbelievable”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

Great experience to actually see the lava fall into the ocean. Amazing. There are also mini fire explosions that will knock your socks off.

“Kalapani”
Reviewed September 13, 2012

You can see both types of lava (smooth and rough) if you drive to Kalapani from Pahoa. At the end of the road is a great little cafe and a short trail take crosses the lava and ends at the oceans. You will be able to see ferns and orchids repopulating the area. Easy walk. Great views.

“I've been hundreds of times. EVERY time is awe inspiring and different”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

Seeing the power of hot magma emerging from the earth, feeling the intense heat, knowing that this molten mass has come from the core of our planet; are transformational inspirations to awareness. Phenomenal lava which simultaneously destroys and creates.
Grateful for the opportunity to stay at Hale Lalala and be close to the beauty and spiritual vortex created by the lava!!!
