This little island is so pretty and awesome to walk. Great place to picnic and watch the ocean waves.

Fun little island close to hotels by the bay, super clean and easy to access. Parking can be difficult.

This is a nice spot to have a picnic. During our visit, many families were there enjoying the day playing in the water and relaxing. There are a few picnic tables and the views are fantastic. The setting is what you would expect when you think of Hawaii. If you are in the Hilo area, pack a picnic and check out Coconut Island.

Nice walk out from the mainland at sunset. Picnic benches around to sit and enjoy the view. Nice parkland area.

Used mostly by locals. Has a nice bow bridge you have to walk over to step on the island. I go to watch the locals do these hugh belly flops of a tower into about five or six feet of water. It's one of those things you see and say, "WOW !!" but you would never do yourself.

Really fun island. The island was small but had enough space for my family to make a circle of chairs to sit on. We played in the water and kayaked around the water area. It was not sandy. There was a big rock that people would jump off of into the water.

Very peaceful and a great place to take photographs. You can actually get a picture of the Mauna Kea Summit and Observatory Telescopes from the island.

Just off Banyan Drive, and Hilo's hotel district is this little park. Connected to the mainland by a pedestrian bridge, this is a pretty little park, where 6oy can just sit and relax, or make it part of you exercise route.
Either way, give it a visit.

Wasn’t sure what to expect but found the cutest little island not far from the city. Looked to be lots of locals enjoying the shade, fishing and hanging out here. It’s a very small island, can walk around in a few minutes. Great scenery and can view out over the water towards Hilo Centre. FA few picnic tables and toilets on the island. Saw a few people swimming here also. I walked here but took about 45 minutes from the Centre of Hilo. It’s much closer to the large hotels.
