“Farmers Market”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

Great farmer's market on Saturdays. Fresh grown foods to local handmade goods. Great place to sample local foods and drinks and hang with the locals, as well as purchase some interesting gifts for friends and keepsakes.

Thanks for the positive review of the Garden. FYI, the Farmers' Market is 9-2 on Sundays, not Saturdays. We feature locally grown produce, flowers, hand-crafted items, and specialty gifts. Come to shop and view the Garden too!

“Excellent tour with Jim”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

Informative, inspiring and entertaining tour of this wonderful garden. Jim's stories made the plants and their relationships with the Hawaiian people of the past and present come to life. If you have time, stop by and take the tour with Jim.

We're so glad you appreciated your tour of the Amy Greenwell Garden. Jim, along with the rest of our staff have a passion for native Hawaiian plants and love sharing our mana'o (knowledge) with others. Please tell your friends to stop by when they visit the Big Island!

“Fascinating tour”
Reviewed March 3, 2014 via mobile

Our tour guide, Jim, led us around the garden, armed with knowledge, anecdotes, legends, and humorous stories. Wonderfully friendly and a clear love of all things botanical, the tour was leisurely and informative. We came away with an appreciation of the big island's botany and a fascinating perspective of its history.

“Why not stop and talk and see the flora. Quick self guided tour.”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Come by on Sunday for the great and popular Farmers Market or just stop and stroll during the week. Nice spot and great guides. THere is a cost but not bad. Plan on an hour at least and they have picnic seating there. Buy some local food at any of the local shops with local people who will be nice, polite and proud of their wares. I go at least twice a month and chat up our community with the local farmers and artisans. Really kewl stuff for great prices and done with aloha. Browse then buy since "take your time and stroll" is the by-wrods

The Sunday Farmers Market is a great community asset and the Amy Green Garden is happy to host it on our grounds. The next time you visit our beautiful island, please consider taking the 1 pm tour of the Garden so we can share more of Hawaii's plants and history with you.
