We went to Kealakekua Bay to snorkel with the Fair Wind guides - it was spectacular! It's a secluded bay with a great variety of colourful fish and just looks like a dream. I highly recommend it.

Kealakekua Bay was one of our snorkel destinations with Sea Quest.
We saw a trumpet fish and a needle fish in this bay.
We even spotted bottle-nosed and spinner dolphins frolicking close to the bay.
This marine preservation park is the habitat of beautiful and amazing schools of fishes.
While we could not land on shore (one needs to apply for a permit to do that), we could see Captain Cook Monument from the water.

The only way to see it is by way of the ocean. You don't have to kayak to it
Their are plenty of tour boats, you can usually find coupons in the booklets at the airport and hotels. You CAN NOT swim with the dolphins if you think your going to touch them ,
Take pictures etc. You might have some swim last you.
BTW don't think of coming to the big island without renting a car

If you want to swim with the dolphins in the wild, this is an excellent place to try. I've only swam with them twice but I don't go there often. I do love to kayak the bay though.

Good bay with great snorkelling but it was very slippery underfoot so a bit dangerous very mooring the Kayak
