The food was really good. We enjoyed walking around, having some biscuits and then eating the BBQ. Portion size for the ribs was really good. I couldn't eat everything. Wish they had some beer to drink with dinner, but I understand that this is a family establishment. Entertainment was top notch. My two boys 12/13 really enjoyed it. We were very tired from a day of rafting and thought we wouldn't make it, but they really kept us engaged. Funny and Musical.

I don't know how they do it, but this dinner show gets better every time we visit. We were especially impressed by the higher quality meats they offered this year. Several of our party ordered prime rib, which was seasoned and cooked to perfection (medium is the standard, but they set aside a few well done steaks for folks that appreciate a little extra cook time). I had the chicken, which was outstanding. It was a large, boneless, skinless grilled chicken breast covered in a mild bbq sauce. Those that ordered ribs were also pleased with the amount of meat and serving size. The only thing we didn't like were the biscuits which seemed to have a strong baking powder flavor. Our group ranged from 3 years to 67 years of age. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the musical program and jokes. My 11 year old nephew is still walking around saying, "Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit!" The 3 year old loved the Uncle Noah's Ark song and is trying to imitate the animal sounds. The 30-somethings chuckled over the song medley that included snippets of contemporary hits like "What Does the Fox Say?" and "Billie Jean." And we all agreed the fiddling can't be beat! There really is something for everyone at this Western dinner show. Tip: if you have made reservations, the only reason you would need to get there early is if you wanted to wander around the village shop or take a short carriage ride through the property. Otherwise, arriving around 6:30 should give you plenty of time to check in and get settled at your table before dinner begins.

How can one add to the many comments on the Bar J Chuckwagon reviews? Here are a few things:

1. The show is OUTSTANDING (yes, I am shouting). Superior musicianship, great natural comradery on stage - the quality of entertainment rivals what you may find in elswhere and it is a bargain.

2. The BBQ beef is ordinary, though well-flavored. Next time, I would choose the steak, chicken or ribs.

3. Bring something to save your place at your table. When you get assigned a table, immediately go to that table and save your seats you want with a blanket, jacket, or other item.

4. The Wranglers gave good history on chuckwagons and their business, all of which was quite interesting.

Definitely include the Bar J in your Grand Teton itinerary!

This is a buckboard style dinner with lots of food and a show included. Lots of western singing and corny jokes but good family entertainment.

We had an excellent time at the Bar J. I would highly recommend the ribs which were great. You can get seconds of the pulled beef. Get there early and ask for close up seats. Also, they took tables for food starting with table A1. Fun show full of comedy. Highly recommend.
