September 2012 Was able to find the site pretty easily. Didn't have to get a key. Great petroglyphs- nice explanations in visitor center. As we walked toward the petroglyphs, two white horses were walking toward us. A nice kind of mystical welcome to a magical place.

Legend Rock was easier to find then I thought based on previous reviews. There were signs guiding us to the site from Thermopolis. There is a small visitors center with interesting facts about the petroglyphs and on the day we visited, a very nice older gentleman was on hand to answer questions and distribute pamphlets about each petroglyph.

A short hike leads to a path which runs parallel to the rock wall that contains the petroglyphs. Each petroglyph is numbered and corresponds to the pamphlet which tells the meaning/age of the art.

We visited on a beautiful, warm, sunny afternoon. Just being close to the petroglyphs and this sacred site gave the feelng of serenity.

We were so thrilled to be able to go to see the petroglyphs outside of Thermopolis. We drove to the site and a wonderful gentlemen that was filling in for the caretaker took us on the walk today and explained to us all about the site and the petroglyphs. It was such a wonderful trip and although I was fearful of seeing a rattlesnake (or two), I did not and it was a great experience to see the markings on the rocks. WOW!

There are explicit uinstructions on how to find this place. Follow them. It's worth the trek down the dirt road to experience these amazing pieces of the past. There is a person on duty to explain the history of the site and its meaning to the prehistoric cultures.

There is no charge for this site but give them a decent contribution for all the hard work and effort they put in to making it available to the public.

Highly recommend, really cool! We got lost the first day and ended up in the middle of an oil field. Be sure to note they close at 6. The guide was wonderful and kind. Such a cool location - and saw lots of antelope on the way.
