“This place RULES!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2011

Rolled up on it blind not knowing what to expect! Had a BLAST! Didn't you see the railroad tracks following the road to Fountain of Youth Campground? And as far as the only place around that is totally not the case! It's Wyoming. I found a campground not more than a hour away from Thermoplis. But then I've never complain about the campgrounds around Los Angeles either.
The guy running it was great!! Showed us to a campsite, came buy and checked on us and later even gave a mini concert to folks out by the pool playing guitar and singing! The guy was AWESOME and very accomplished!
The hot pool was the real attraction! A three level pool with only the #3 pool "cool" enough to play in! #2 was a 10-15 minute ordeal and #1 had a "Stay Out" sign, though I did see some guy go in over his head in it. The pools are fed by a hot spring that was struck while drilling for oil! The chemical make up of the water makes it unique and people come from all over to enjoy it's properties!
The campsites all had power and water (we charged our phones at a tent site! Bring stuff to plug in) and concrete pads for the picnic tables! Bring quarters for the showers and clothes washers and dryers.
Come here for the hot springs pools, consider it like you're paying to use this unique pool and he lets you camp in his backyard! This was probably the best stop we had in Wyoming!

Room Tip: He does have rooms! One was right next to the laundry room by the pool entrance! No bathroom. Gotta...

I agree with the other review about the train tracks literally running right next to the park. The bathrooms were tiny, not very clean, and extremely dark and rustic. It didn't ever seem that there was anyone there to help you at the store and you waited a long time before they returned. Many huge RVs mixed in. The hot springs pool was a hit with our kids. Picnic tables were helpful and there was water and electricity. Not cheap. Campsites were stacked on each other, so not private or very quiet either. Big attractions in the area were the dinosaur museum and the native hot springs area right up the road. Bring food to this area as the local grocery store resembles items and layout of the 1950s. Not a horrible spot, but not recommended either.

Look at my photos to see that the trains literally run right next to your RV, so forget about sleeping at night. This is the first RV Park I've stayed at where I had to pay for the shower right inside the shower. The bathrooms are definitely rustic. The grounds could have been a bit cleaner, but it wasn't horrible. Another thing that kept me up at night was that they have a live band playing poolside. The guests who stayed up to hear them I'm sure loved this feature, but those of us trying to sleep didn't love it. The mineral hot spring pool was great, but everything else was sub-par.
