Description: One of the best DINNER options in Jackson Hole? We think so! Since joining the Mangy Moose in May, 2015, Executive Chef, Seth Nelson has created a really great menu using locally sourced meat and game, (grass fed, no hormones or antibiotics), delicious appetizers and deserts. (Try the "Jackson Holes" - warm, house made doughnut holes with vanilla ice cream and huckleberry sauce.) Our General Manager, Ari Borshell has been with us since 1991 and he and the Moose team will do everything possible to make sure you have a great experlience at the Mangy Moose. When you visit us, you will find friendly staff, reasonable prices, and delicious food for the entire family. BREAKFAST options include eggs through yogurt items. A delicious selection of salads, San which espouses and burgers are on our lunch menu. Also, hand tossed pizza is available on our Saloon menu. We have a GROCERY store and WINE shop, (over 325 labels), GIFT SHOPS and LIVE MUSIC on our stage. We are very proud that since 1967 the Mangy Moose continues to be such a popular destination on any to visit to Jackson Hole.

“great food lively atmosphere”
Reviewed February 14, 2012

I have been to the Mangy Moose several times during my vacation in Jackson. I enjoyed the lively and very crowded atmosphere for apres ski beers. I also had a laid back lunch here another day, the fish and chips and sandwich were yummy. Last night, I went for dinner. We considered sitting on the restaurant side (the place is split into saloon on one side and restaurant on the other), but chose the saloon because it seemed more..."happening". There are several choices of "wild game" on the menu which is what we were looking for. Elk sirloin with porcini ravioli and madeira sauce was really great. Lots of flavor, cooked rare according to chef's suggestion. Qualifies as more like medium rare to me, but was delicious. The steelhead (trout) served with greens and butternut quash puree was tender and very good as well. Both dishes were far closer to fine dining quality meals than I expected to receive in a saloon. I knew the food had to be good since the Moose has been around a long time, but I was really pleased. Service was smooth and friendly. Our server was working half the bar at least, with several tables of fairly demanding folks that were still in their ski boots at 930-they were inebriated to say the least. She handled it all very well and also gave us the attention that we needed.

“No trip to jackson is complete until you visit the Mangy Moose.”
Reviewed February 7, 2012

the legendary Mangy Moose restaurant and bar is a great place to meet friends after skiing to brag about your day on the mountain. the restaurant serves wonderful entrees and is family friendly. the bar allows children until 10 pm on most days. the waitresses are great at their job, I dont know how they keep it all straight when the bar is hopping busy. It can be very crowded after skiing.

“Mountain Bar perfect for end of day !”
Reviewed February 3, 2012

Is what you expect to see, and its great at doing it! Looking for that mountain side bar/tavern/cool place with live music, pitchers of craft brews and awesome nachos - and the fire place? This is it, great souvenir shop, jewelry shop and package store in the basement.
