Nice place, we just visited Devils Tower and on our way to Rapid City. It was right off the freeway and easy to find. Clean and pet friendly. Breakfast was good and all the staff was very nice and helpful.

Hotel was clean but really needs just a little updating. Staff was helpful & friendly. Pet friendly for a small fee. The free breakfast was fine but the dining area felt a little tiny bit dirty with a few flies. Good location for travelers who want to just get on and off the freeway quickly. We stayed here because we were exhausted and didn't think continuing to drive to the next big city was a good choice. I won't stay here again if I don't have to.

We usually stay in town. The Best Western is on the outskirts and your car is needed to get to restaurants or to walk the town. Generally nice rooms but no refrigerators are available. A very nice indoor pool and hot tub are available for guests that would be nice in the winter or fall, not so in summer.

We booked two rooms at this Best Western on April 8 for a June 20 stay. We were travelling to Yellowstone then home thru Wyoming and South Dakota seeing the sites. We are middle of the road people who want a clean room to sleep - no high maintenance here. When we arrived to check in around 7 PM after 8 hours of driving, we were told that the "computer system overbooked the hotel" and that "it was the first time ever" and the staff "did not know how it happened". They then told us that they had booked us two rooms down the street at the Rodeway Inn, which "was good news because it was cheaper". When we arrived at the Rodeway, the Best Western staff had only booked one room and we needed to wait while another way made up. It was then that we came to the conclusion that Mr. David Mathis was in fact the owner AND general manager at BOTH hotels (see anything fishy about that?!)! Frankly, if we had wanted to stay at the Rodeway we would have booked our rooms there in the first place. What got us even more was that the woman ahead of us at the BW checked in with a reservation just fine as well as the woman behind us (we waited while some of the family used the lobby rest room and overheard her checking in). Our only conclusion since reservations were honored for people before and after us, is that it was convenient and profitable for Mr. Mathis to fill his Best Western with regular rate customers and to send a few of us who had AAA or cheaper reservations down the street to his other property, the Rodeway. I can only describe what happened as a traveler’s nightmare. We booked here because of the ratings and because we typically stay at Best Westerns and would NEVER write a bad review unless it was warranted. My husband and I have taken MANY road trip vacations to National Parks across the country and have stayed at countless Best Westerns and NEVER have had an experience like this. So thank you for a terrible experience after a long drive and for offering us NOTHING (literally) except reason to get online the moment we got home and inform other travelers to beware.

The hotel was clean, updated, but you could hear people upstairs. The parking lot spaces were nice and wide, the common areas were freshly painted. The bed was a little hard but it had an updated tv. The free breakfast was toaster heated French toast, toast, biscuits and gravy, cereal, milk, juice, and coffee etc.
