Surprisingly great food for such an out of the way place. Service - Patrick - was funny and very good. It was a great meal after a long day on the road. We will definitely stop again if in the area.

We heard about this restaurant and the excellent chef and first tried it on one of their "Italian nights". The chef was there, the food quality and presentation was excellent, so we scheduled another trip with visitors in town. The food was sub-par. The "supposed" chef signature dish of Chicken Parmesan was overcooked and presented on a bed of what seemed like a kid's version of spaghetti from a box - eatable was its best quality. Similar experience with the other dishes. The menu at the restaurant did not match the menu presented on-line; not in selection, price or sides included (bait and switch?). Turns out the chef was not there this second time, and, apparently, often he is not. The waitress was badly overworked, trying to cover all the tables and the saloon; but she kept her cool better than I ever would have. I don't understand how these restaurants can make a great splash and then sink so quickly; or why they insist on saving money on their least expensive (lowest compensated) help, like waitress, which can make so much difference in the diner's experience. Sorry Firewater, you hit a home run once, got a second try and struck out - game over for us. Let this chef know that he needs to keep working to make the kitchen and its outcome a success. Absence in mind and body do little for the menu and experience.
