this is a historic hotel with many original features, whilst perhaps this might be viewed by some as not quite up to modern standards the accommodation is clean and comfortable - and indeed very reasonable priced and there is a great bar available as well as a restaurant whose excellent reputation attracts diners from vast distances - the location is ideal for onward journeys and there is an outdoor natural spring pool available near the town centre.

I know that this review is a tad late, but I will make it short and sweet...STAY HERE, it was well worth it and I would make a trip back that way just to stay there
My mom and I flew into Denver for a two week driving trip out west and this was our first night
We got there on a Friday night, so it was a bit crowded downstairs, but you never heard a thing upstairs in the rooms....
room was prestine.....staff was fantastic and the food downstairs in the resteraunt was great......
It was well worth the trip

We traveled from Washington to Missouri by car staying in historic hotels and bed and breakfasts all the way and this was one of the very best! The whole town of Saratoga feels like a movie western and staying in this hotel confirms it. It was at this point in the trip that our children became cowboys complete with cowboy hats and wooden rubberband guns from a shop down the street. We stayed in room 20 and the furniture was all huge. I tried to take a photo of how large everything was, but the camera did not capture the scale. The owners were great. The creeky stairs were great, but we arrived late and at 11pm we tried with children and luggage to quietly climb them without waking neighbors. I do not think we were sucessful in that task. The beds were comfortable and high off the ground. Everything was elegant and charming. It is not a standard hotel. It is a step back in time, even with the way the staff runs the hotel. I am concidering taking another trip to this area just to stay here again because we loved it that much.

Arrived Saturday around 4.30pm and were checked in by the barmaid at Reception which was in tthe pool room next to the bar.. Paid up front with credit card and never saw another member of staff again - even on departure on the Monday morning!

The sign on the hotel door said the hotel was closed for business Sunday and Monday but we had access to our bedroom (nothing else but the stair to the front door) and our room was cleaned.

Anyway, on checking in with the barmaid after a 320 mile drive from Jackson we asked if we needed to book a table for dinner on the night only to be told the restaurant was full but we might be served in the pool room (smoky) at 9pm - otherwise eat out! Saratoga is a very small town but we were fortunate to find the Saratoga Inn where we got a splendid meal. We had booked direct with the Wolf 7 months previous.

Our room on the top floor had a window with a fire exit sign pinned to the sash window which could not be opened by us. Fortunately alone in the hotel with no staff to call we did not have a fire!

For breakfast the cafe next to the Wolf is highly recommended.

We spent a wonderful 3 weeks in Wyoming and our experience at the Wolf Hotel was a one-off.

Hotel Wolf is a unique restored historic hotel. As an older property, it had some interesting things that you don't usually see, such as an exit sign mounted above the hall window that looked over the roof (well yes, that would work as an exit...). But moving past that, it felt like you had stepped back into time as you entered the hotel. You go through the swinging doors to the saloon to register, then go up the steep wooden stairs to your room. The rooms are very nice, with comfortable beds, and even a comfortable sofa bed (which you don't often find!). The hotel is set at the corner of the street in the downtown area and there are sidewalks and interesting shops that make you want to go for an early morning walk down to the river. I'm glad we stayed there!
