Extremely large menu with Chinese and sushi. Dishes were well-priced and well-prepared. Servers were very nice.

“Fresh seafood in Rock Springs!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2014

We had driven all day (starting from Nemo, SD, stopping in Devils Tower for 3 hours, then on to Rock Springs--about 9 hours) and we were tired and hungry. Bonsai was located across the road from our hotel (too dangerous to walk across the road) and initially, we were hesitant about ordering sushi and sashimi...but we figured that if the seafood wasn't fresh, there wouldn't have been a crowd of people there, many of whom were local and regular customers. We ordered the combination dinners (about $15 each) which included miso soup, teriyaki, tempura, California roll, and sushi, and both dinners were fabulously delicious and very fresh. The restaurant also offers Chinese cuisine, but we prefer Japanese food. We highly recommend this restaurant.

“Oh, the food...enormous portions of deliciousness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2014 via mobile

Close to the hotel we stayed at. We enjoyed the experience. We had Chinese menu for 2 persons. Started with Wonton Soup and appetizers. Both delicious. In this menu also Szechuan beef and the 'Happy Family'. It was excellent! Highly recommended.

“Great restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

Close to the hotel we stayed at. Recommended by the hotel staff.... and we went and enjoyed the experience. We had Chinese dishes ... a noodle dish and a seafood dish. Both were excellent. We'd go to the Bonsai again if we get through Rock Springs.

“hard working staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014

Bonsai is located on busy, commercial Dewar Drive. I've eaten there many times and like it very much. I am glad that the business arrived, inhabiting the deserted Wendy's. (Why places like Wal Mart and Wendy's abandon their buildings only to build yet another building nearby is puzzling to me.) The staff at Bonsai's is very hard working, very efficient. The counter is a nice place to sit, if you're solo, to enjoy a meal and a beer. I think the prices are reasonable and the food is good. In a town that's mostly into fast food places and chain restaurants (the opening of a new Taco Time is heralded as if it was peace in the Middle East), Bonsai is a welcome alternative.
