Appears to be an attractive Comfort Inn, however, it has serious problems. Checked in, the room was a little cool so turned up the thermostat and left for dinner. Came back and heater/AC was pumping cold air out. We turned up heat again and left to purchase a few things. Returned and the room was freezing. Outside temp was about 22 degrees room was about 60 and heading down. Called the front desk and was told it was a heat pump issue and she asked me to fix their heater by turning the system off, setting temp between 70 and 73 for 15 minutes and it’ld work. Tried that twice - changed nothing. Then, I tried turning it off for 15 minutes, resetting it for 15 more minutes and adjusting heat. By then had tried to get heat for hours - nothing would fix it. Called the desk still again and woman came up. Her comments indicated that this is a common problem at this motel. She said that their maintenance guy told her in the past that there was a Reset button under the heater/ac that would help. She climbed all over the heater and could find nothing. I also looked all over it - no reset. The room was freezing - could have froze water. She offered a space heater and brought it to the room. Sounded like this often happens and they have space heaters available. It helped but was noisy. Later in the evening I walked through the Front Lobby to go to the car – which had to be parked down the road in the street and saw a family of 5+ that were in PJ’s and sleeping in the Lobby sofas. Never figured that one out? Parking is a real problem. They seem to have about half the number of spaces as rooms. Businesses on each side of it having signs warning cars will be towed if parked in their lot. So you may end up parking on the road down the street as I had too. At checkout the desk person said she thought a refund was due because of the 22 degree outside temp and no heat problem. She said she was only authorized $10 and she thought more was due. GM reviewed the issue after I left. Took $10 off of an over $100 room bill for no heat and up hours trying to work with their people to get it working. By the way, the front desk person told me that the Gen Mgr was the person that did motel maintenance – so he is likely responsible for the heaters not working, Lastly, the beds are the hard version of a foam TemperPedic sort of mattress. I have never seen these in a motel or hotel. So, if you do not like a real hard bed you might not like the bed. I would not stay at this motel.
