I discovered that all of the upper-tear restaurants and hotels are at the east in of town after I had already checked into this Super 8 at the west end of town. This place was "okay" but certainly not great. It served the purpose as a place to stop for a quick night's sleep on a road trip and the price was good. The rooms on either side of me were empty and it was quiet but I suspect that would be different when the busy summer months arrive. Do NOT eat at the restaurant next door!
we had a room that opened to the outside or into the hall. We had to come and go through the hall becasue the door to the outside did not lock from the outside. we had to use the deadbolt from the inside. when we told the front desk all they said was we know its broken. the bed was clean but very hard. I dont know if the carpets have ever been cleaned. they were filthy!
This Super 8 is easy to access from I-80. Thats about the only good thing I could say. Our room was not clean, crumbs on the floor and the sink appeared to be "used" with water and soap spots. In the morning the ice machine didn't work. An employee told me to "try again in 5 min " but it still did not produce ice. At breakfast the other travelers helped us find things. No staff were present. There was no staff at the desk at check out. Just a basket with a note to leave your keys here. We would not stay here again.
