“Delightful and quaint cabin!”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

Stayed here with my sister. We spent summers here as children (dad loved trout fishing) so we wanted to revisit our youth. The cabin we had was very nice and comfortable. Had 2 double beds and a kitchenette and a deck with a picnic table. It was a trip down memory lane! The beds were fine. This is not a fancy set-up but it is perfect for a place to stay while exploring the beautiful area around Pinedale. We took hikes and had picnics. Really enjoyed the beauty of the area. We actually didn't use the kitchenette--there were plenty of places to eat in town. You could always stay in one of the chain hotels, but this is a real "charmer". We will stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in cabin 10 and it was perfect for 2 people. We each had our own bed.

It is always heart-warming to welcome guests who revisit the past, who stayed at the Historic Log Cabin Motel some decades ago, and who share this experience with a loved-one. Thank you for letting us know how much you and your sister enjoyed your stay, and our summers in Wyoming are no other place - serene, majestic, a true felt experience of nature in its purity and spaciousness. We hope you will make this a family tradition! Sofia and Forest

There were three of us in our hunting party and all of us enjoyed our stay. Sofia and all of the staff were outstanding to work with and they treated us great. I even forgot an expensive piece of equipment and a pair of shoes under a bed and when I called Sofia, she located the items and immediate shipped them via UPS to my home two states away. The items arrived today, just as she promised. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, and comfortable place to stay. Thank you, Mark (Oregon)

Dear Mark, thank you for your time to review our historic log cabin accommodations. Hunting in Sublette County is one of a kind - we are always amazed from how far people travel! A guest came all the way from Vienna/Austria for bow hunting.....you are welcome: we always call our guests who forget an item, and we regularly send them back immediately. Hope to see you again in the near future. Sofia and Forest

I stayed at the Log Cabin motel for a few days prior to and after a backpacking trip in the Wind Rivers. Sofia and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. As a solo traveler I stayed in the "economy" room in the main building rather than a cabin. For just myself it was great and it would have accommodated two people without a problem. Room was very neat, clean, and comfortable. The entire property is quite pretty with the rustic cabins and all the flowers. I also was treated to seeing a variety of humming birds at the flowers and nearby feeders. And, Sofia provided some good day hiking tips for the days I was not on the backpacking trip. A very enjoyable stay that I will repeat if I have the chance!

Room Tip: As noted above, if you are by yourself the economy room is a great bargain for a nice room.

Green Features: All the staff seemed environmentally conscious and followed good practices, such as urging guests to just use the motel's great water rather than buying water in plastic bottles.

Dear James - thanks for sharing with other travelers how much you enjoyed staying with us. "All the Civilization you ever need" is Pinedale's slogan, and all in all, we have more than that: the outdoors are empty spaces with few people crowding trails and sandy beaches. We look forward seeing you soon again! Sofia and Forest

Dear Adriana, When travelers come from afar, we always hope to be of a surprise offering more value, comfort and service than expected from a place in rural Wyoming. There is really so much to experience here - 2 days or longer is just perfect to get a good taste of the Great Out-West. We hope you will choose Wyoming once more! Sofia and Forest

Our group of four stayed a total of three nights here. Sofia has turned these historic cabins into a marvelous and homey place to stay. Yes, they're more expensive than the chain places down the road, but the space, location in the center of town, the small kitchen and most importantly Sofia's personal interest makes it more than a great value. Stay here.

Green Features: Very green business, from lights to toiletries- you can see the details on the motel's web page.

It is so much appreciated hearing from our guests while staying here at the historic log cabins: thank you for your time! We love to meet you, share our favorite places to visit, hear from you what you liked most, send you to a fellow business in town for a yummi meal or some fly-fishing insider holes, and see you relax on the porch. We hope you will return to Pinedale rather sooner than later! Sofia and Forest

The staff, accomodations, and setting are perfectly rustic. This is a great place to stay if you want a little more space than a hotel. Kitchen facilities are well stocked. Stay here if you like sitting on the porch in the evening to wind down. Great landscaping and lawn. Nice walk to downtown, just a block away. Home away from home.

Room Tip: Call well ahead and the staff will help you select the best cabin for your group and travel plans.

Dear Gordon, thank you for staying with us during your business trips to Pinedale - we always enjoy seeing you again here at the Historic downtown Motel. It is a great place for a home-away-from-home experience, whether you stay for one day or for one month! It gives you a pause - space to BE, and the opportunity to meet a fellow traveler while enjoying a cold beer on the porch of each cabin. See you again next year! Sofia and Forest

If you want to experience a bit of the "good old days", step back in time and spend a few days at this quaint motel. You'll love sitting on the front porch of any one of the cabins to enjoy the serene evenings or the quiet joy of early mornings. And, you can chat with your neighbors, if you want to have that home town experience. The beds are comfortable, even the loft mattress bed in cabin 12! A few of the kitchen areas are a bit larger than others. But, all units have the microwave, toaster/broiler, and small sized refrigerator, with a few dishes and glasses to help set your table. Outdoor grills are available for real cooking. The price is reasonable, the ambiance is far better than a national chain's room decor, and all rooms are very clean. The flower beds and planters, the trees and bushes, the gravel walkways, and the tidy outdoor areas all feel inviting. The owners and staff make you feel like a welcome houseguest. You'll want to return again and again.

Room Tip: Just pick your room by the size of the party that will be spending the night or multiple nights. Ha...

Dear Karen, we always appreciate when a guest takes time to share their experience with other travelers! While we offer modern amenities with fully furnished kitchens in the larger cabins, it is a step back in time to visit an historic place - these cabins are here since 84 years, and have been a lodging facility since then, with many stories to tell. Our love is to prepare the one acre lot in downtown Pinedale with the most beautiful landscaping - we have more than 2 dozen hanging baskets each summer! Can't wait to see you return!
