We stayed at the Togwotee Mountain Lodge 30 years ago with our sons. When we decided to visit Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, we were surprised to find it still there. They have added approximately 40 very nice cabins, with one bedroom, a limited kitchen and a great fireplace! We spent 6 nights there and enjoyed every minute of it. We had dinner and drinks in their Red Fox Saloon every night which was very enjoyable. The bartender, Rayan, and the manager, were great. It was a short, scenic drive into both parks, on several occasions. we had the lodge pack lunches for us for picnics in the parks. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Cabins with fireplaces were great!

Having negotiated the mountain pass in the snow to get to the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of our cabin although the bathroom was a bit plasticy
The dinner in the restaurant was adequate, but breakfast was something else altogether.
More a question of what breakfast. There was a toaster but no bread and when we asked, the waitress produced 4 slices for the whole restaurant. I think the worst breakfast of our 2½ week trip.

My wife and I joined two other couples for drinks at the Red Fox Saloon at the Togwotee Lodge in WY on September 20, 2017. We enjoyed refreshing drinks and excellent service by Ryanne. Great place to stop!

I really wanted to give this property a 2.5, but it is not possible with TripAdvisor. One positive attribute it has is that it is 30 minutes closer to the entrance to Yellowstone National Park than the B&B where we stayed in Jackson Hole. Prices are reasonable. It is very clean. The staff that works at this property are as friendly as any we have ever encountered. They are mostly young women and a few young men who apparently stay in a dormitory on the property while working there. It is definitely secluded. The bedding was okay but not great. Probably the most important thing that happened to us at this location was that on one of the mornings while driving to Yellowstone National Park, we encountered a mother bear and 2 cubs adjacent to the roadway eating berries from the bushes. That was exciting. Now for the negatives about this property. There is no air conditioning. Do not – repeat do not – eat at either of their restaurants. Both restaurants serve the same food, it is just terrible. We ate one dinner meal and one breakfast, if you want to call it a breakfast, and decided not to eat again on this property. There was grease floating in the gravy on the morning that we ate breakfast. Neither of our stomachs was happy about it later. They do not help you with the luggage, and it was a struggle to get the suitcases up the stairs. The input on the television does not work so you can't watch movies on it from your computer, and they only get a few stations on their TV. Cell service is nonexistent. The lighting is poor. If you stay at this property, it is still one hour to drive to get to the entrance of the Yellowstone National Park. It is only an additional 30 minute drive if you stay in Jackson Hole, and I would certainly recommend that you stay in Jackson Hole over this property.

This place is way too expensive for what it is and is determined to squeeze every penny out of guests. Breakfast was very poor and at extra cost and then they had the temerity to charge for service at breakfast which consisted of a waitress pouring tepid coffee and then disappearing from sight. We had to find our own cutlery when some was missing and ketchup and she only reappeared to give us our bill. Scandalous and hotel would not waive the charge.
The rooms are shabby and there was blood on the sheets (see photo). when we asked for this to be changed we were eventually given replacement laundry and told to do it ourselves.
Even worse is that there is an easily accessible thermostat in the family room which would then aloow access not only to electricity but also to mercury ina metal vial.
Really dangerous.
I would suggest demolition of this place and staff and owners deserve to lose their jobs. Yes I am really angry at being ripped off!
Please STAY ANYWHERE ELSE.
