We stayed in the lodge which was clean and comfortable. The check in was easy, staff was friendly. It was nice to have modern comforts after staying in Yellowstone for a few nights. We had car problems in the morning and were immediately helped by staff. We took the horseback ride offered through the lodge and it was way better than I expected. My husband and I were the only ones on the ride and Carol did an excellent job of giving us an experienced riders tour. It actually is one of the highlights of our trip. We would stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights in one of the cabins. We were not disappointed...well, I wasn't. My husband did not see the bear he wanted to see, but, there were deer right out side our window one morning and a mama and baby moose in the pond nearby.....GEEZE, some people are never happy! Ha! The horseback ride we took with Abbey, Zack and Javi was loads of fun and the scenery was the awe inspiring kind....very peaceful. If you don't want to cook, the restaurant has a fabulous cook! The service was great!

Room Tip: If you want to make your own meals and have your private little hide away, pick one of the cabins...

Enjoyed the cabin.....lots of grizzlies on the campground, which made it exciting. Great trout dinner! Good value overall. If you visit Yellowstone from here, leave early in the morning and get back before dark....make it at least a 2 day trip to Yellowstone to cover the circle.

Room Tip: Get a cabin on the perimeter.....view the grizzlies that way!

This is a rustic mountain lodge literally out in the middle of the mountains. It is about a 30 minute drive into the entrance gate for the Tetons, and 45 minutes to the gate of Yellowstone National Park depending on traffic. It is a long way to travel to Yellowstone from there and then travel through the park at 35 miles per hour and that depends on animals and traffic.It would take you a good 4 days to see both parks if you stayed here, and maybe more. We stayed in the main lodge which is rustic, but clean, but we couldn't sleep because the third floor above us which were all suites squeaked whenever someone walked on the floor above us. The front desk switched us to another room but they all have these floors above them and it was a little better. They also have cabins for rent and we would suggest this rather than the lodge as they looked nice. Some have fireplaces. It is a great spot for snowmobiling in the winter months but isolated.

The lodge has a restaurant which serves a buffet breakfast which we thought was pricey so we didn't eat there. The bar also has food and we ordered a pizza but it wasn't very good but the bar was fun. This is the only place to eat in the area without a drive however so you have to eat there if you haven't eaten.

The main desk was wonderful and helpful to us giving us great clues as to what to see and do around us. They suggested we go to Dubois on the day we didn't want to drive back into the parks again, and it was a highlight too. Wind River Canyon is stunning, and there are some great hikes to some mountain lakes that we enjoyed. There was a possibility of seeing some mountain goats but they had already migrated. We would say go and stay there if you can't find another place closer to the parks but plan on doing a lot of driving to get anywhere.

Room Tip: Only stay in one of the mountain cabins or one of the suites which are on the third floor.

I stayed there for 6 night while visiting Yellowstone and the Grand Teton. The location isn't great for visiting Yellowstone, there is ~1 hour drive to get to the south entrance.

The hotel is pretty old, and the rooms are very simple. I stayed in one of the lodge rooms, and I missed having a refrigerator. The cleaning staff is a little lazy in my opinion, but overall, I enjoyed my stay.
The staff at the front desk were all very nice, welcoming and helpful. It was very comfortable to have a restaurant in the hotel for night we were too tired to think of where to eat. The food there was nice.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone who is looking for an affordable place to stay, who wouldn't mind starting his day with at least 1.5 hours drive.

* Nice size rooms
* Nice deck to drink my morning coffee
* Nice and helpful people at the front desk
* Clean
* Free wifi
* Restaurant in the hotel

* A ~1 hour drive to the south entrance to Yellowstone Park
* 30 minutes drive to the Grant Teton
* 1 hour to Jackson Hole
* 1 hour to Teton Village

Room Tip: The walls are paper thin, if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs :-)

Love the place, and the people. In retrospect, a little too far to drive to Yellowstone from and return at night. Easier to reach Tetons. The gas was super high here a little cheaper in Jackson. The staff were ALL friendly and helpful, and one even let us borrow a can of bear spray for our hike and thank goodness we did not need to use it, so we returned it. The coffee is starbucks, and wish only for a larger coffee pot. The beds were terrific, and housekeeping was terrific. No bad reviews here.

Room Tip: The menu is not extensive, so for variety try other places. The pizza was terrific. As was the mil...

We stayed at Togwotee in mid may, a week before everything opens at Yellowstone, so we had the place basically to ourselves, but nonetheless, the staff was super attentive, and the cabin was the nicest we stayed in during our 2 week trip. Very comfortable, very clean. we hope to go back soon, even if its 2000 miles away!
