“Great room in the lodge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

We enjoyed staying in a lodge room for three nights during our trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone. The drive to the parks was tolerable but construction made it less than enjoyable. The room was spacious and well kept. The staff was helpful and friendly. My advice would be to avoid the restaurant. The food was below par and costly. Unfotunately there is very little choice nearby. If you must eat in the restaurant the pizza was passable. The chicken wings were the worst I ever had.

Room Tip: The lodge rooms are on the second floor with a steep staircase. The rooms might be hard for older tr...

The cabins were wonderful. We stayed in the same cabin with my parents to help keep the cost down, cause it's expensive in this area. The cabin was clean, plenty of space for the four of us, and the staff very accomadating. My only problem is that we were about 2 hours from Yellowstone. We spent a lot of time on the road driving back and forth. For the Grand Tetons, it was fine. About 30 minutes. It will help a lot when the road construction is finished. That did take about 15-20 minutes on the travel time. It's not at Moran Junction on the map, there is nothing there. It's about 20-25 minutes from there. But if you don't mind the drive, by all means stay there!

We had a very nice stay in the cabins, I had been here before so I brought more cooking supplies since their pots & pans were limited. The cabin was clean and the beds very comfortable. It has a beautiful view, and not far from Jackson so you could go into town if you wanted to. We took the chuck wagon dinner ride and really enjoyed that. We also took a horseback ride and the hot tub was wonderful after the ride was over. We really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed for six nights. Had asked for a star gazing view in a cabin and was placed direclty under a "street light". Was disappointed with the size of the cabin, as there were three of us and while there was plenty of leg room, there was not enough room for our clothes and belongings. No closet and no coffee table in the living room. We were cramped and uncomfortable. Also we expected some sort of view....the cabins are close to one another and there is no view except of the next cabin and the gravel road. Carpet was dirty. Kitchen had minimum supplies to cook a decent meal with....pots and pans are not teflan and everything sticks to the bottom even with butter or oil. While it's not the lodge's fault the construction was very tiring, as we'd have to stop and wait for "pilot cars" coming and going and this added about forty minutes one way on top of the normal drive to sites. I would not stay here again when wanting to visit the Tetons or Yellowstone. Not at all what I expected.

We booked a family suite in the togwotee lodge, it's so big with a sitting area, sofa bed, small fridge and microwave. The queen size bed is comfortable, but the upper level bunk bed had such a high mattress that the kid will be very easy to fall from the bed overnight. So My son actually slept on the sofa bed for 3 nights. The room is very clean with a huge closet, two sinks, but the location of the toilet is awkward, good thing we are all petite or it'll be hard to fit in the small space. There's no air conditioner, which is the only thing bothers us, we have to left the window open. The first night was so hot I didn't get a good sleep. Overall the lodge is very clean, it's about 18 miles to Teton, the road construction didn't bother us as we were there on the weekend, but the Monday morning we left it's a 10-15 minutes wait. It supposed to finish by this year. The price we paid is unbeatable with$400 for 3 nights. The horseback riding was fun, but I kind of regret I should do it in the Yellowstone park which had a better route.

We loved staying at the Togwotee Mountain Lodge. It's close to both Yellowstone and the Grand Teton National Park. Except for the construction, it was an enjoyable drive. The selection of food at the hotel restaurant was limited. Dining at the cafeteria at the Old Faithful Lodge was a less expensive alternative. Their menu selection was wider, plus we got the chance to watch Old Faithful around our meal time!

My sister and I traveled cross country this summer with our children, ages 2, 9, 11, & 15. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable, with all the little extras; the use of a pack & play (bedding included) at no charge, large mini fridge/freezer, Starbucks coffee, hot chocolate, dishes, stovetop, and a dining table. It was perfect for us and the kids were happy since we had cable and wifi. This cabin was only $50 more than the place we stayed the night before at East gate, and was worth 3 times as much as that place. We highly recommend staying at this lodge.
