Family of amateur riders were treated very nicely, everyone was friendly to us. We opted for the 2 hour ride and our guide was Brie. She was very accommodating and patient with us when we wanted to take photos. The horses were well behaved and the scenery was beautiful. I would recommend.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your time, our staff, and our horses. It would be a shame to not have photos of the scenery around here for you to take back home. We are so glad that we could provide that for you. Thank you for your response!

My Father and a friend and myself just returned from a 4 night stay at Heart Six. Top to bottom, this was a fantastic ranch. We selected Heart Six because of the location and the ability to do a variety of fun things. We rode horses, learned the basics of fly fishing, went on tours of Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP, went on a Snake River float with stunning views of the Tetons, had cookouts, campfires, great meals and way too many fun things to include in this short review. They even took us to Jackson Hole and prepared a fantastic cookout (smoked beef brisket) in a beautiful park and then took us to the Rodeo and we even had an opportunity to participate in the Rodeo which was very cool. The staff is lead by Eric and Becky who literally pull out the red carpet to make each and every guest feel special and appreciated. The kitchen staff, ranch hands, wranglers, house cleaning staff, office staff all went out of their way to always speak to us and make us feel welcome. They provided every thing we asked for, each and every time we asked. We joked that they must not know how to say "no" at Heart Six. We did the inclusive package which basically included all of the cool stuff I mentioned above but of course you could schedule private rides or fishing trips or white water trips for additional fees if desired. Heck, the views from the front porch overlooking Buffalo Valley and the river and Grand Teton in the distance were alone worth the price. Next time we will bring the kids along as they have an excellent children's program led by the staff and Eric and Becky's children who do a fantastic job engaging with the guests and their children. Now I am saving my money for a guided Elk Hunt in the fall or a snowmobile tour in the Winter, as I can't wait to see the area in different seasons. Finally, not sure what the negative reviewers were expecting but this is a horse ranch in the Mountains of Wyoming. The cabins are clean and cozy with super comfortable tempur-pedic mattresses but no, it's not the Ritz, but for my money and for what they offer I'll take the Heart Six every time. Can't wait to go back.

Thank you for your response! We loved having you and are thrilled when our guests jump in to participate at the rodeo! Each season at Heart Six brings new wondering and we would be glad to have you back again for hunting season or to see Yellowstone by snowmobile.

Only spent one night, so didn't avail ourselves of the many services provided --- we did have dinner there and it was excellent. Enjoyed the 'out of the way' location and watching them bring the horses up from the pasture early in the morning. We found the staff to be very helpful.

As your review title indicates, we are an 'out of the way' location and we love providing that for guests who are a bit drained from the crowds. We are glad that you found us and would be thrilled for you to stay longer and ride one of the horses you saw our wranglers bringing up! Thank you for your review.

My husband, son, and seven year old grandson just returned from a four day three night stay all inclusive at Heart Six. We had a wonderful time! The cabin was clean and cozy, meals at the lodge and cafe were excellent, staff was friendly and helpful! Big pat on the back to Becky, Eric, their children, and ranch staff, especially Phillip, Woodrow, Sarah, Nichole, Emma,Brittany, and Nate! The staff was very accommodating to our grandson, entertaining him on a moments notice! And the views were absolutely incredible, whether from our cabin porch, lodge, or horse ride! The cell and internet service was spotty but we were here to relax and remove our selves from work! Looking forward to returning again some day! Terri R

Room Tip: We stayed in South Antelope! Ask for all inclusive package!

My daughter asked to go to Wyoming for graduation present for finishing college with honors and keeping her scholarship all four years. We were very lucky to pick Heart Six. It was the perfect ranch to enjoy the great experiences the state has to offer: horseback riding, Yellowstone, river rafting, a rodeo, etc. Food was wonderful, the staff knowledgeable and professional, riding was done at your own pace (advanced for the daughter and a wee bit more moderate for me) and rooms were clean and comfortable. We liked it so much that my wife and her daughter are going next month!

My sister and I stayed at Heart Six for 3 nights. Heart Six offers a week long horseback riding program. We did not have that long so just decided to stay on property. When we checked in, the guy at the desk was extremely unhelpful. He did not explain anything about the property to us. I asked several questions. For example - where do we eat? He replied that the there was a diner that was open until 8 (we arrived at 7:30 pm and had to rush over). You cannot get meals in lodge unless you are a ranch program guest. Question 2 - We would like to go on a horseback ride, when is that available? He replied that they did not have horseback riding on Sundays (we arrived Saturday night) and that Monday was booked. Since we were planning to leave on Tuesday, we were very disappointed. He did not offer any solutions for us except to call on Monday and see if anyone cancelled. A local person told us to go to Swift Creek outfitters because they were open on Sunday, which we did. The room was very small - no air conditioning, no TV. The walls are very thin so we lost a lot of sleep because other guests were loud. The positive things were that the bed incredibly comfortable, although we did not get good sleep. The location is fantastic; it is very close to Grand Teton National Park. I would not return and would not recommend this to others based on my experience. We were ready to get out of there when Tuesday morning rolled around.

Thank you for your response. Our all inclusive package (which includes horseback riding and meals) is very popular. We do our best to accommodate all of our guests, but we are limited due to space and ranch hands as to what we can offer for guests who book on a nightly basis. We try to explain clearly on our website our amenities available for guests, and we will impress upon our front desk the importance of reiterating this information. Please call ahead, or notify us while booking and we will do our best to reserve space for you on our horseback rides. Thank you for choosing Heart 6 and we hope that you enjoyed the rest of your time in our part of the country.

This ranch has a location that is extremely convenient to Grand Teton National Park and the price is very reasonable for lodgings in the Jackson area. However anyone who is planning to do any work during their vacation should be aware that there is no cell phone service here, or anywhere near here, (I have verizon) and their wifi is rather spotty - it feels like using the dial-up internet of yore. The frustrating wifi is offered in the lodge and cafe only. So if you were thinking you could make a few work calls and keep up on on email during your stay, guess again. This also is a bit startling when you reflexively go to your phone or Ipad to look up information for dining and activities and realize that you are truly "off the grid" .

When you are at one of the park lodges (between 10-20 minutes drive) usually you can get cell phone reception there, or in the town of Jackson (Jackson is about 50 minutes drive away).

They do have a small booth behind the front desk with a phone and a computer which they never told me about and so I did not get a chance to try either. The staff also did not inform me of the nice living room they have in the back of the lodge, there is coffee and hot chocolate back there 24/7 as well as a pool table, a TV room ( no tvs in the rooms), and games and books. This room also has a beautiful view of the Tetons.

My room was one of the "elk" rooms, it faces directly onto the parking area and the walls are rather thin and so every time someone pulls up or walks by or opens or shuts the door to their room I would hear it, impinging upon napping opportunities. This room was surprisingly loud and busy for being in the middle of nowhere. Some of the rooms behind the lodge have a shared porch with direct Teton views however this is marred by a very old, empty, above-ground swimming pool located in front of the rooms, which was not filled with water during our stay. The owners should rip it down if you ask me.

The lodge itself is a nice log cabin style lodge, our room was comfortable although I really did not like the bathroom just because it was a shower stall ( handicapped accessible, no tub) with a shower curtain so the bath mat on the floor got sopping wet and never dried.

Overall I would have enjoyed myself more if I hadn't been unpleasantly surprised to be disconnected from work matters i was planning to attend to. This is a stunningly gorgeous part of the country and really fun to explore, I particularly enjoyed taking the boat across jenny lake followed by a hike to inspiration point, that was truly the most picturesque hike I have been on.

Food wise we ate at the cafe for breakfast a few times, I found the breakfast good but very standard diner-like fare, not sure why some of the other reviewers are raving about how awesome the breakfast is.

Thank you so much for your review. Honestly, we have been very frustrated with our internet service as well. We have the fastest internet available in the valley - a T1 line - for which we pay quite a high monthly premium. Century Link has labeled us as chronic in their service, although this past month it has been much better. They are working towards a solution and we can say that over the past week or so, it is definitely improving. Our business thrives on internet as well, so we will do everything in our power to be sure you can stay connected.
We do offer free land-line telephone service to our guests and since there are no phones in the rooms and cell service is spotty, we will also be sure to pass any calls on to our guests who are staying with us.
We are also sorry that our front desk staff did not inform you of the lodge, ping pong, pool table, basketball court, playground and tv room available to all our guests. That is something that they are suppose to inform everyone about, but it could have been just one of those days when things get a bit crazy and they forgot. Thank you for your understanding. We will strive harder with the next guests that come.
As far as the noise in the cabin, we have put soundproofing between the walls and insulated as much as we can, but older buildings that have the quaintness that log buildings do, often deal with sound issues. (I saw the same issue with other reviews of other lodges in the area.)
The uniqueness of Heart Six is that we have only 19 cabins, so at least when you are here, you are not dealing with all the crowds and people of the bigger lodges within Yellowstone. You can truly enjoy and "unplug!" We hope we can serve you again here at the Heart Six.
