After fishing in the area, we stopped for lunch. We ate in the lovely Red Fox Saloon--neat vintage light fixtures. The food was well prepared and plentiful. I ended up taking half my meal home in a box. Great elk burger and fries and excellent chicken/black bean quesadilla. Loved the guac. Good service as well. This is a charming stop in a scenic region.

The staff was friendly and service speedy. The portions were large, but the variety was limited. Also, there were again no mountain views from the restaurant.

Had Buffaloe Sloppy Joe and chicken sandwich, huge onion rings-well prepared, friendly service and good meal after a long day. Gets busy later as folks get back from day trips.

I had Trout for dinner. The spice used was good but the trout was overcooked and dry. My husband had catfish. It was very fishy. (He has eaten catfish prepared on numerous occasions..this was fishy.)

Breakfast was very different. Full breakfast bar with excellent choice of breads (including blueberry bread that was awesome.) Fresh fruit..pineapple, blue berries, blackberries and honey dew) . Sausage, bacon and ham, oatmeal, eggs and pastries. (Oh yea, there was sausage gravy too!) Everything that should be hot was hot. Items that should be cold were cold.

I wish I could fill out two separate reviews!

Very good food for after a long day of riding. Service staff is very friendly. Salad bar is good. Overall not a bad place to eat onsite.
