We took more pictures here than any other area of the Tetons. There are lakes, waterfalls and wildlife. The mountains are so close that the view is breathtaking. Stop at Jenny Lake lodge and check out this lovely resort while in the area.

we walked around the beautiful shore to the falls, about three miles of medium to strenuous walking up and down and then took the boat back to the parking area. we highly recommend walking outbound and riding the boat back.

We passed Jenny Lake just at noon and saw that a boat trip was possible without any reservation. So we took the boat (10 minutes trip) . The walk to Hidden falls and inspiration point is only 3,5 km. The falls are splendid, the viewpoint after a steep climb to inspiration point is for me rather disapointing. Well worth the trip. This all takes at least 2 hours.

Grab the lake shuttle early in the day and hike the HIdden Falls trail to Inspiration Point. Be sure to grab a hiking stick at the dock if there are any available, it makes the going a little easier. The lower end of the hike is easy, but the section right before Inspiration point is a little scary, if not terribly difficult. For the most spectacular views, keep going another 30 minutes past the point into the canyon.

Jenny Lake is best seen early in the morning before the hoards of nature lovers (like myself) arrive. The facilities on site are excellent and include a visitors center, restrooms and a store where souvenirs and food can be bought. If you're not up to trek around the lake, boat tickets can be bought and you can ride across. We "hiked" up to the waterfall and Inspiration Point with lots of other people. Patience and courtesy is a must. The Lake provided a place to cool our feet and let me tell you, the water is cold. Bring sunscreen and water.
