We had breakfast at O'Dwyers a couple weeks ago, we have been working on being objective and taking the service and food at face value. I have been in situations where over reactions towards the server can turn a so-so experience into a uncomfortable situation where the server became rude or avoided my table.
(1:00) We walked through the door to be greeted by one of the owners, it would have been nice if he would of told us his name, it seems owners only give there names when your looking into there eyes and some sort of introduction and hand shake is taking place. He was nice and talkative taking us around the dining area and showed us the bar but we decided to sit underneath the dome in the dining area.
We asked to see the breakfast and lunch menus and he mentioned that the chef made the French toast bread, biscuits, and Hollandaise from scratch. He was still talking to us about the Bloody Mary Bar when our (1:06) server Hannah came up and took our drink order and she told us more about the Bloody Mary options, we ordered the Bloody Mary Bar.
(1:14-1:22) Hannah came back and we ordered, Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Burrito and we split some Brioche French Toast and got our glass of ice with the vodka, then walked into the bar to choose a mixer, fixings, and spice it up to our liking, and then the bartender shakes it up and, Bam! you have a great drink, It was fun, but they didn't have the vodka we wanted and the bartender wasn't smiling or seeming very happy.
We asked Hannah if they had togo menus, because we like to do that.
(1:25) Hannah checked on us to see how our Bloody Marys were.
(1:29) Our food arrived, it looked fresh and smelled good, Hannah asked if we needed any condiments and brought us what we asked for immediately.
We started to eat and my friend noticed that there were some burnt onions in the burrito, we weren't sure if onions were in the description on the menu or not and wanted to consult the menu.
(1:46) Hannah came to check on us and asked us how everything was, good we said, and my friend inquired whether there was supposed to be onions in the burrito, that the onions were burnt and maybe tell the chef, and right about then, the owner and maybe the general manager came up with a togo lunch and dinner menu, we asked if there was a togo breakfast menu and she (manager?) pulled one out of one of the menus, that was sweet.
We looked at the menu and in the description there were O'Brian Potatoes (that has onions and bell peppers) in the burrito.
(2:00) Hannah checked on us again with smiles, but didn't ask us if we wanted anything else.
(2:05) Hannah took my empty plate at (2:10) she brought the check.
Overall it was good experience. Good service with good food, I would recommend O'Dwyers for breakfast and will choose them again when going out.
Servers and Bartenders should be Knowledgeable about the menus and be enthusiastic towards the guest.
It was nice to see a “hands on” owner, talking to guests with a cheerful smile and generally seemed to care.
