I've enjoyed several meals at Anong's, and I've been disappointed in a few, too. Some of the noodle dishes are lacking in flavor and can be too salty. Further, on several occasions the noodles were hard and stuck together - unacceptable for a Thai noodle dish. The curries are pretty good and flavorful. So, it really depends on the dish and on the cook - be prepared for something good or something only okay. Anong's is a different option for dinner in Laramie, but it is not great Thai food.

This little place is stuck at the very end of Ivinson and is definitely worth the few extra steps, even thought it may not have the greatest curb appeal. Traditional Thai selections for American restaurants fill the menu, and the dishes are heaped and prepared with care in no time. Service was a little frazzled on the busy night we were there, but they were courteous and were working their tails off to keep things moving in the room. Only downside is that there is no vestibule at the entrance, so every time the door opens, the weather outside comes into almost all corners of the restaurant. Not enough of an annoyance to be a deterrent, especially when the food is this good and affordable!

Anong serves traditional, authentic Thai food. The restaurant is "Laramie Style," that is not a lot spent on interior decorating to attract upscale reviews. Instead, diners can settle right in, knowing that their meal will be delicious and reasonably priced. I'd eat here even if Anong were located in my hometown, Boston.

If you're looking for an alternative to mainstream, deep-fried American fare in Laramie, Anong's is the best place to start looking. Strictly oriental on the menu, there's still plenty of exotic variety to please the bored palate. Dangerously spicy offerings are clearly marked with flaming menu icons. The wide assortment of beautiful-looking tea recipes will leap out at you from passing servers' trays. Anong's has panoramic views of downtown Laramie and the railroad yards, and the fancy Thai wall decorations are even nicer. Part of three or so downtown restaurants whose clientele is feminine by nature, one gets the feeling that the cuisine is likely a lot lower in fat and calories than traditional American fare-- but there's no nutritional information presented to verify this with absolute certainty. Ice cream is also available in flavors we don't often see, such as green tea. Service is prompt but not chatty, as many of the wait staff are ESL and in a big hurry. If you're visiting Laramie, Anong's should be on your itinerary. If you live here, you should go at least once. It'll cure the humdrums.

If you like crispy duck, you have to give this dish a try. Have them put the sweet chili sauce on the side and then add the sauce to your own desire. The sauce has a nice kick and not real spicy. Crispy duck is something you don't normally do at home so this is a great place to have this dish. Our table of four all had great selections off the menu. Great place for a thai food fix!!!!!!
