“Not worth trying”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

My lady friend and I ate at this restaurant based on unanimous recommendations from friends, who billed it as "the best sushi restaurant in Laramie." After being told by the greeter at the front desk to sit anywhere we chose in the no-atmosphere dining room, we waited about 10 minutes before our waitress appeared. Once she finally appeared, however, service was adequate to good. Unfortunately, the sushi is only mediocre and overpriced for what you get, and served on a single dinner plate with no side plates offered. The edimame we ordered was undercooked, bland, served only lukewarm (not hot), and outrageously overpriced for the small portion received. My friend ordered a non-sushi vegetarian dish that was so terrible, she refused to eat more than one bite--a "first-time ever" for her. Bottom line: Just say "no" to this place. Go to the one up the street.

“Good sushi in Laramie”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

Service was great and friendly. Sushi was amazing and authentic. They even had kimchi which is a tough one to find in Wyoming. Yum! I think their Lion King roll was my favorite out of them all. Not the most authentic roll with fried potato sting on top, but it was DELICIOUS!

“Love this funky place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

Not the most swanky location in town, for sure, but it's Laramie Wyoming, and it fits the laid-back vibe of the whole town. First, sushi is delicious, fresh, and well prepared and presented. Korean BBQ was a little different than expected, and despite the absence of accompanying condiments, was extremely flavorful and satisfying. Miso soup was full-bodied and incredibly tasty, and the stir fry entrees were fresh and full of flavor. Looking forward to many repeat visits to this little oasis of fun and tastiness.

“Unique positive experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

A very nice deviation from the normal fare where many restaurants tend to serve the same entrees - not at the Sushi Boat!!! We ordered the Korean BBQ which was an entree of short ribs and rice. The short ribs were cut "Franken" style which is a unique cut where the rib is cut in 1/4" pieces that are prepared in an oriental seasoned manner. They were extremely tender with the right combination of seasonings and sauces. The menu also included many Korean entrees that included sushi, and other meat entrees that would satisfy the needs of any diner. Erina did a great job working our table. At the beginning she helped us understand the extensive menu and continued to make sure our dining experience was exceptional - Again, great job Erina!!! You have to try the Sushi Boat - It's a pleasant surprise for Laramie dining.

“Tasty food, nice people”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

The yakitori was very flavorful and veggies cooked just right (still crisp), noodle soup was good and tempura was okay. We will go back. Service was slow because they were understaffed, but the pleasant server made up for it. We didn't try the sushi or sashimi, it just doesn't seem right to have raw seafood in Wyoming!
