Good service and good food. Pricy considering it is basically a bar and grill. They do have a happy hour with drink specials and 1/2 price appitizers.

We ate here upon the advice of the hotel staff where we were spending the night. We were surprised there was a Cajun restaurant in WY, but decided to give it a try. My husband had catfish and I had a large bowl of gumbo. Both were delicious, as was the corn bread. Our waitress was friendly and the service was fine. We had not read the reviews on Tripadvisor before eating there, but I am surprised at some of the very negative reviews. We had a very positive experience....and the price was "right".

This was a disappointing stop. Our waiter was so disorganized. The appetizers took quite a while to get and when they finally came, they were okay. The waiter then immediately came and told us our food was ready and wanted to know if he should just hold it in the kitchen. When we got the food, one of the sides was missing. We also had to ask for drink refills - - twice. Not a good experience. And, it was slow in there as far as a customer base - - I'm not surprised.

I've been here several times and the dining experience has never been the same twice. On average I would say the service has taken a nosedive from once respectable to currently very slow, a bit apathetic, and on the odd occasion, rude, and the food remains tolerable, but nothing to write home about. This is not true Cajun food - this is the midwestern version of what Cajun food might be. The portions are adequate, the preparation is adequate, the prices are modest, just nothing super. On the plus side, the bar does serve a pretty respectable array of mixed drinks including some very good specialty martinis and the location is convenient to a night out in Laramie. I'd like to see them dabble a bit more in true Cajun cooking and revamp or add some dishes that have some pop and verve - a real true gumbo, a real true jambalaya, real shrimp or crawfish etoufee, some fresh seafood maybe even including oysters.

If you’re looking for something different than a beer and burger in a western bar, Tommy Jack's is a good bet. This martini/jazz bar in the heart of cowboy country offers an eclectic menu (includes crab cakes and gumbo) in a relaxed and casual setting in the heart of downtown Laramie. From our table overlooking Third Street we could watch the passersby and enjoy our food and wine.
