Ok so let me start by saying that the hotels / motels in Laramie have two extremes....cheap (and a bit scary) and expensive (with more amenities than a overnight traveler needs). There are some seriously seedy places as you drive through the main part of town....With that said we were going to stay at the Gas Lite but the kids thought it looked a little TOO interesting. Agreed. So we wandered around stopped in a few places that wanted 70+ for a room with two fulls / no breakfast and no pool. We stopped at the Ramada which looks like it is slowly getting a make over. The lobby was nice and remodeled and the owner / manager (who was VERY nice) gave us a room with two queens for $53 including tax. On top of our very clean and updated room we were near the pool and got a decent hot breakfast the next morning. The pool is undergoing renovations (I hope) and needs some water added but had comfy lounge chairs and was very warm. The hot tub was out but you got a glimpse of the new (still in plastic and packaging )tub awaiting installation in the courtyard. Overall the hotel was quiet, beds were comfy and new with nice bedding and the bathroom exceeded my expectations. The breakfast kept us full (though the coffee was barely drinkable so we had to stop on our way out of town), and the pool was warm. We were happy with our experience especially for the price and it met our needs for a stay of less than 13 hrs. Also note that the hotels along 80 in Wyoming go fast (before 7pm) due to highway traffic. We did not reserve and should have. From what we understand we got the last room (of the non luxury hotels) in Laramie or Cheyenne. Later in the evening my husband saw the manager helping over 10 people find rooms at other area hotels with little luck.

Sooo many things wrong with this hotel. The owner should be ashamed of himself! The pillars are pulling away from the building, the sidewalk is uneven, the cement is crumbling. Stay away. Now, breakfast was good but the Chinese lady running it was a little gross with her food handling. Michelle at the desk was helpful getting me directions to Utah and explaining where the best place to go for gas. But, I doubt I would stay here again.

Received an amazing rate. Very clean room. Super friendly . felt very safe with my 3 kids. Everything worked except the hot tub. A very old inn but surprisingly very much appreciated. I would and will come back in the future.
