We stayed five wonderful days at Inn on the Creek in Jackson last week with another couple and after doing a lot of online research and quite a few phone calls with any of our fielded questions answered made this place perfect for us. Attention to detail by the innkeepers, Casey and Amy Morton, and their wonderful staff was second to none.
Our breakfast each morning was a real treat to anticipate with delectable recipes accompanied by fresh brewed columbian coffee, true freshly squeezed OJ, assorted fruit bowls, sweet breads and other breakfast items were generally presented such as bacon, sausage, boiled eggs and would often accompany the daily fresh baked morning fare. Fresh fruits were available all day for our chosing and we were encouraged to take a piece along for the days adventures....nice touch! Wonderful fresh baked cookies were left by the door upon return from a long day of sightseeing and a much welcomed tasty evening treat!
We stayed in the Swan Suite by Flat Creek which was right outside our french doors and the room slept four people very comfortably and was very relaxing and quiet. you could access the room inside the Inn or go around the building by the babbling brook for a more private entrance. The room was surprisingly very spacious and homey. The room has a Queen Bed which was a murphy bed and the sofa made into a tempurpedic queen sleeper and both are very comfortable according to whether you wanted a softer mattress(Murphy Queen) or a firmer more body comforming bed(Tempurpedic Queen Sleeper Sofa). The other couple and us swapped beds for a night so that they could try out the sofa sleeper and were glad when the preferred the fluffier mattress but after sleeping on both either was fine with us!
Room interior was very tastefully decorated and had recently been redeorated in early May. It is has somewhat upscale western rustic furnishings. A table by the windows overlooking the creek accomodated two perfectly to sit and sip some morning coffee (BTW.. room has a 12 cup coffee pot and they provided filters, fresh coffee beans, a grinder and sugars and they gave us creamer upon request for our room). We had a full kitchen at our disposal complete with fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and cubboards filled with dishes, cups, coffee cups, beverage glasses including wine glasses and a corkscrew, silverware and other cooking utensils, blender and we were surprised at how well stocked it was. We went to the local grocery store for beverages, wine, snacks, etc. We made picnic lunches and kept them in the fridge for us to carry out on our daily scenic tours and they have an small ice machine in the kitchen to provide ice for filling travel coolers for the day so we did not have to go out an purchase ice and our kitchen had ice trays ready for evening cocktail or a cold drink. They have wine buckets on request so you can take them to the privacy of your room.
There are four bar stools at the breakfast bar to sit and enjoy a snack or meal. Our room has a nice gas fireplace with was actually nice and cozy for the people sleeping on the sofa sleeper to snuggle by. Sofa was flanked by two comfy side chairs to relax in. We kept the queen bed out all day and our rooms were cleaned and beds freshly made up each day.
The bathroom just adjacent to the Queen bed area was adequately stocked with crisp fresh towels, hand towels, washclothes, floor mats daily and boasted tree piece washroom with a sink and counter, toilet and step in shower which had a dispenser with nice smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash which was a nice touch so as not to clutter it with travel bottles ...you don't really need to pack them to bring with..so save the room in your luggage!. They also provide nice bathrobes in the closet which came in handy for us gals so we could pop in and out of the bathroom after showering to retrieve our toiletries or to lounge in after a nice bath.
We enjoyed meeting other interesting people from all over the county and beyond that were staying at the inn each day at breakfast and trading interesting stories on our travels and getting good advice from Casy , Amy and Caroline on places to see and things to do in the area. They introduced each person at the table individually and I was totally amazed at how they could remember each guests names with soo many different people coming and going during the week! Impressive for sure!
Really everything you need..they provide..but the real benchmark of a great place is the wonderful personal service the go out of their way to provide, their super freindly staff and the complete comfortable and casual atmosphere that truly makes you feel welcomed, appreciated and even a bit pampered and spoiled!
We shall return here again definately and look I forward to sharing our review with future guests traveling to Jackson, WY. Trust me...you won't be dissappointed!
Soo...what are you waiting for?
