“Excellent Winter Getaway”
Reviewed February 11, 2014

We chose The Lodge based on the positive reviews we had read when doing our travel research. We found everything to be true. You truly get the greatest value for your money here. Everything from the free airport shuttle pick up to the free shuttle services into town and into the ski resort.

The complimentary breakfast is awesome. Fruit, eggs, meats, granolas, juices, Starbucks and more. It is things like that, that help improve your stay that much more.

We rented a suite with a fireplace .. Very nice to lounge and relax in front of it after a fun day out.

Location is excellent .. About 30 minute walk into town but very doable if you don't mind throwing on your jacket and boots!

We are already looking into coming back.

And the dog sledding half day trip is worth every penny!!

Thank you for such a lovely review. The fireplace rooms are definitely one of our most popular during the winter months. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our breakfast selections as well, this is certainly something we have worked hard on perfecting.
We can't wait to have you back with us again!

We booked a King room with a fireplace in January. The room was clean and very comfortable. The indoor/outdoor pool was great. You can swim under the door and then you're outside swimming. The water is heated. It's interesting to swim outside while it's snowing. There are two hot tubs; one inside and one outside, and a suana inside. The breakfast buffet is very good. We had an 8 O'clock flight and had to leave at 0615. The buffet wasn't open yet but they were setting up and the cook gave us a couple of rolls/bagels.

There's a grocery store close by and some restaurants within walking distance. If you don't rent a car, the city bus picks up right next to the hotel. I was glad we rented a car when I saw folks outside in the cold waiting for the bus. Also, the hotel is located too far from the town square to walk there in my opinion.

Take a sleigh ride through the Elk Refuge while you're there.

I would stay here again.

We appreciate the time you took to review your stay here at The Lodge, thank you. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. It is always a fun and strange time to be able to swim while it is snowing! The Elk Refuge sleigh ride is a great tip, it is always a good time. Thank you again and we hope to see you in the future.

I was not able to do much research before the honeymoon, so I picked this hotel based on what I saw on their website. Lucky us it was a great choice!
The hotel is located about 1 mile outside downtown (too far to walk in winter). There are some amazing places within walking distance to eat (Gunbarrel, Elaines, sindwinders and atlier ortega). Those were the ones we were able to hit during our stay. There is a free bus that stops right outside the hotel and will take you to downtown within 10 min. It stops every 30minutes and is pretty clean and nice for public transportation. The hotel also has a shuttle that will pick you up and take you to airport & Teton village (skiing). The shuttle is only available between 7am-10pm. So our 7:45am flight required us to get taxi. (FYI Jackson airport wants you there 2 hours before flight).
We got a room with fireplace & king bed. The shuttle driver helped us to our room and gave us a quick review of hotel. Our room was in the "new" part of the hotel. We had an amazing view outside of the mountains and sunset. Only downside to the room was the thermostat lied. I believe the hotel has central heating and the thermostat was there just for looks (when it comes to heating- i'm sure it's a different story with the AC). So, we were pretty warm at nights and had to open the window sometimes.
The hotel also has a great continental breakfast, but if you get sick of it you should go next door to Virginian Restaurant. They had great coffee & bacon :) and of course other great foods.
The concierge was extremely helpful when it came to booking any excursion or guidance on where to go and where to eat. We did not try Spa or Dinner at the hotel. We did get a delicious lava cake at the bar in the hotel.
Overall we were extremely happy with this hotel and had the most amazing honeymoon!!!

Room Tip: We were in room #255. This was in the new wing on 2nd floor.

Congratulations on your nuptials! I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your honeymoon here at The Lodge. We appreciate that you took the time to write such a nice review for us. Sorry to hear that you found your room a bit warm at night. We are actually not on a central system and the feedback you offered has prompted us to check out the unit in that room so that we me remedy that situation.
It sounds like you had a busy trip here in Jackson and we are delighted to hear that our concierge services came in handy helping you set up excursions and reservations. It is always fun for us to show our town's highlights to visitors.
We hope that you will visit us again if you are back in the Jackson area!

We stayed for 2 weeks at the lodge from 14th Jan 2014.
It's a lovely place to be and we found the staff to be very helpful and efficient. Previous reviews have questioned the quality of service but it's a fully serviced hotel with free shuttles to the slopes and a free concierge for local trips during day and night.
It's about a 10/15 minute walk to the town centre which I didn't find to be a problem and if you use google maps to locate it then it's obvious that you're a little way out of town. Incidentaly the best bar we found in Jackson (Eleanors) is a 2 minute walk from The Lodge and although it's mainly a locals bar, I'd urge anyone to try it out. Anyway, I digress.
There's a small hotel bar and the hot and cold buffet breakfast service is very good.
We stayed on the 2nd floor and the room was very nice. 50" plasma on the wall, blu-ray player, a very handy multi hub at the room desk was a welcome addition to take care of all your charging and connectivity needs. Coffee maker, fridge and microwave all present.
The room was furnished in a nice native american style and was tended daily by the excellent housekeeping service who were spot on.
We requested a room with a bath, which we got, although in true US and Canada style the baths are a little smaller and shallower than we seem to get in the UK. This is not a fault of The Lodge, it just seems to be the case in every place I've stayed across the pond.
The bathroom itself was nice, fairly large, and re-stocked with nice (Molton Brown) products daily.
In room safe, ironing board, iron, and hairdryer all present.
Free wi-fi worked well and had good signal everywhere I needed.
There's a decent sized indoor/outdoor pool, outdoor hot tub, indoor hot tub and sauna. Small gym that looked fully functional, guest laundry etc. Free ski lockers.
The carved animals that appear all over the place are very cute, the 3 small raccoons outside the laundry room window nearly made me jump, in a good way :)
Overall it's a great place that I would have no problem recommending.
Would I stay again? Definately, in a heartbeat.
Thanks to all for making us feel welcome.

Let me start this review by saying the hotel an its associated rooms are very nice. The room we stayed in was exceptionally comfortable and had a lovely bathroom. The showers in this place are amazing and each room is equipped with a lounge, fridge, and coffee maker. The rooms were neat, clean and tidy housekeeping do an outstanding job. The complimentary breakfast was also to a high standard and the food provided exceptionally fresh. The hotel is located 20mins from Jackson Hole Ski Resort and an hour and twenty minutes from Grand Targhee. The hotel has a shuttle that runs twice daily up to the ski fields and they also have one that will run you into town at night. We had a car so did not need to utilise these services.

The service at the front desk was often less than friendly and I am not sure what the two lads in the front foyer are supposed to be doing. As they watched me struggle in with two suitcases and didn't even offer to open the door. They just watched me! I also found most people will not give you eye contact let alone say good morning and I felt this really let the hotel down. It has all the great makings of a great lodge, but they need to step up on their service. I felt as though I was putting them out when asking for a dinner recommendation.

On the upside despite Jackson being an expensive town to ski and stay in, the skiing does live up to its reputation. To save you asking the staff some dinner recommendations for Jackson - Ignite, Local, and Lift are all good options.

Again good hotel but for the price you might do better elsewhere.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your opinion. I am so happy that you found our Lodge to be both comfortable & conveniently located. I am, of course, dismayed that some members of our staff failed to impress. Please know that negative feedback (while thankfully rare) is taken VERY seriously and your review prompted a multi-department rally to reinvigorate the staff after a head spinning holiday season. I truly apologize that you did not receive the warm Western hospitality for which we are known. I hope that if your travels bring you this way again, that you will consider allowing us the opportunity to earn back your loyalty.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel and were immediately impressed upon driving up to the property. The hotel has a true lodge feel and my wife was especially tickled to death with the bears and raccoons carved all around. Our room was spacious full with amenities such as Keurigs, rain showers, and soft linens. Breakfast was filling and the thick cut bacon was satisfying. The location is conveniently spaced between the square and other locations. The entire staff was helpful, especially drivers, Zane & Dustin, who were full of good suggestions and all around hospitality. I'd definitely recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Jackson/Jackson Hole.

This hotel is a prime example of a small establishment that's beating the luxury brands at their own game. The rooms are luxurious, the beds are like heaven, and it's quiet. The little bears carved into the woodwork everywhere are cute little surprises that add a delightful sense of humor to your stay. You never know, one of them might be "peeking" in your window. About the only drawback to the hotel is that it's just a little far from the town square. There are plenty of good dining options right around the corner, but to get to town you'd want to drive. We travel to Jackson at least once a year. We've stayed at this hotel a few times and I don't think we'll be staying anywhere else any time soon.

Room Tip: Go for a mini-suite with fireplace in the new wing.
