“Snake River KOA Jackson WY”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

We stayed here 7/9-7/13/2012 for our first trip to Wyoming. Family of 4, so we rented a "Kabin" which had its own kitchen and bath, which was absolutely perfect! Had a separate bedroom for us and a loft for our 12 year old twins and included WIFI and had a TV. KOA was located close to everything, plus discounts offered with their "partners" for horseback riding and white water rafting and nature safari, all activities we were interested in doing. This location and cabin worked out great for us. Staff very friendly and a store in front. Great option for budget traveling.

Mom/dad (40s), MIL (70s), and two kiddos (7 & 12) stayed here in July 2012.

We had a really hard time finding someplace nice to stay that was affordable in the area. Even the basic hotels have outrageous rates because of the location. We like to have a little privacy from everyone else when traveling cross-country and this worked perfect. I have never been to any other KOA campgrounds, so I have nothing to compare it to that way, but this met all of our needs and we would recommend this place as somewhere to stay while in the area.

We stayed in a small cabin that was very nicely done up. The kiddos loved the loft-style bedroom upstairs. We had our own private bedroom. Note: The rooms in the cabin are very small, but at least you have some privacy. MIL slept in the living room on the pull-out sofa, although we told her we would take that, and she said that it was fine for sleeping.

There were grills available to use, and the cabins had full "mini" kitchens to make meals if you wanted to save a few $s preparing your own meals.

There was a fire ban going on when we stayed here, so we were not able to have a camp-fire, which kind of put a damper on things because I thought that if we were going to stay at a campgrounds, we would camp. We had campfire snacks and thought we would enjoy this part of "camping," but it was not to be. This was not the campgrounds fault though, so we just went with it.

The property is located along a river, and you can walk the "beach" and check it out. There are actually tent sites down here that look fun if you want to rough it a bit more. There is also a tiny playground areas for the kiddos to enjoy. Our boys skipped some rocks and played on the equipment. They were more than fine with this. This place also offers some white water rafting trips, but we skipped out on this since we had just done this a few days earlier in Gardiner.

Overall, we loved the vibe of the place, the friendly staff, and happy neighbors. We would recommend this place if you were in the area, and we would definitely stay here again.

We were greeted with hospitality and enthusiasm the minute we walked through the door. The staff was very helpful and personally took us to our cabin. The scenery is pristine and the sound of the running creek is very relaxing. The cabin was first rate and had all of the amenities we were looking for. We cooked hamburgers on the grill and had a picnic on the picnic tables in front of our cabin. If were are ever in the area again we will DEFINITELY be staying in the cabins.

We have stayed at many KOA's and have always had excellent service and quality campgrounds. This was the exception to that. First the staff was very unfriendly. The spaces are small and they have parking guides who they want to guide you into the space. Our guide was very rude and when my husband told him he couldn't turn the truck any more they guy yelled and cussed him out. After much debate they finally moved us to the empty spot next to it that was still difficult to back in. The sites are all dirt an right on top of each other. Your neighbors sewer is right next to your picnic table. Gross! We also have a rear slide when pulled out was almost touching the trailer behind us. There was no grass just lots of dirt. No playground, pool, or other activites that most koa's provide. Far from the town of Jackson. There are other parks in town that we found gave a discount if you have the koa card that were much nicer and closer than this place. We will never be back.

This is our first experiece with KOA. We stayed 4 nights in one of their little cabins. The cabin had 2 bedrooms (master bedroom with a queen) and a bunk room with 2 bunks. The cabin is very small but it was sufficient for me, my husband and our 4 year old daughter. We spent very little time in the cabin--only to rest. If you are wanting to spend a lot of time in the cabin, I would recommend something larger and with more amenities (fireplace, nice bedding, full kitchen, etc). Also, there is little to no space for storage. There are no dressers or closets. If you are traveling with luggage, there is no place to put it. We were on a 2 week vacation and we had 3 suitcases. We had to store them on the unused bunk in our daughters room.

We stayed 1 night in Snake River KOA in september. It was our first experience with KOA. We took a big cabin (we were 2 couples). The reception was already closed when we arrived, but outside the reception, we saw an envelope with our name and inside were the papers with the number of our cabin, but no key. We had no plans to getting out, so this was not a problem. The cabin was cozy and clean. The cabins stay very close to each other. Some more space should be better. We had a livingroom with a good equiped kitchen. There was free coffee and tea. The bathroom had a lot of towels and soap and shampoo. There was a small bedroom with a queenbed, and another very small room with a queenbed and a bunkbed. Sheets were provided. Should I book this again. No, because we slept very little. It was the baddest night we had on our travel. Why? I don't know. Perhaps, because the bedroom was so small, we were not feeling comfortabel. And in our case, we had to share the bathroom with 2 couples. It was our cheapest stay on our travel. But when you have a bad sleep, it is an expensive stay. There is little in the direct environment. For supermarket or resto, you have to drive to Jackson (15 min.)

Great location!! The campground is right on the snake river, and we were able to fish right in our "backyard"! Campsite is also very close to numerous other put in points on the snake, and close to Jackson Hole as well! Washrooms and Kabin were also spotless!
The only issue is that the staff would only give us our key between 9 and 6 (office hours), which is when we'd typically be out hiking. Not a huge deal though
