Snake River Park KOA and Cabin Village
Reviewed September 19, 2011

We had a fabulous stay in the camping lodge and totally exceeded our expectations.  We were a family of five and it is not easy finding sleeping arrangements that work for everyone.  We were a little skeptical staying at a KOA campground, but It was really really nice.  In the lodge we stayed in, we had our own queen bed (and yes it was in a separate room), a room with a bunk bed that also was a queen bed, and a comfortable fold out leather couch.  So everyone had a bed.  The bathroom was very nice with granite tops both there and in the kitchen.  The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat.  There was a good size fridge (much bigger than your normal hotel fridge), stove top burners, microwave, plus a gas bbq outside that my husband loved.  We also had a flat screen TV and we were able to plug my son's Ipod to and watch movies we had downloaded.

The best part was that we felt like we were still camping.  We ate outside every night on the patio that overlooked a creek.  We had campfires every night with smores and played card games.  Snake River Park is also located right on the Snake River, so it was absolutely beautiful down there.  My son and husband even caught a few fish.  There are also river trips that leave right from Snake River Park.  We did a whitewater trip that I think our family will talk about forever.  My daughter and I went on a breathe taking horseback ride that was just across the street while the boys went fishing. We got a 10% discount on the rafting and horseback for staying at Snake River Park too.

We were also only about 10 minutes from town, 20 minutes from Grand Teton National Park and we were also able to spend a day in Yellowstone.  The staff was very friendly during our four days, even helping us with a flat tire.  Overall, I am happy to say this was one of our best family vacations.

With the new lodge, camping, whitewater rafting, horseback and fishing all here, we had one of our most fun and relaxing family reunions.  Typically with our family reunions our activities are spread out, but with everything based here our within walking distance it was truly easy and much more laid back. We had been here before and enjoyed the place, but the new owners have really put a lot back into this place with the new lodges (still camping, but with a full bathroom and kitchen to do all the cooking), newly remodeled bathrooms and front desk area.  We are already planning our family reunion here next year.

Room Tip: The lodges are worth it

A little more grassy areas would be nice, I loved the newly added bathrooms and showers much more enjoyable.

Must say we were very surprised with our cabin lodge-it was perfect way to finish
off our vacation. It was much nicer than expected and we enjoyed it so much ! And with the horseback riding across the road, and quick acess to acess to town, it was perfect.
We only wished we had stayed a few more days here!! Thanks - we'll be back!!

Thanks so much for the review of your stay at the KOA this summer! We are so glad you enjoyed it, and we wish you could have stayed longer, too. What a way to finish your vacation in your own private lodge. Come back and visit us again, soon. CAMP ON!

After reading some of the reviews for this campground I was prepared to simply endure our one night there, but it simply wasn't so....this place is Wonderful!!! And I'm pretty picky....
We stayed in a cabin - they're right on the river and so the scene from our little log porch was just right. The campground is quiet and the staff is helpful - they seem to keep a pretty tight reign on security. The wi-fi connection was solid - a big plus after several days of not having internet at all up in the park.
The BATHROOMS - were wonderful!!! I know it sounds silly to gush on and on about bathrooms, but the bathroom complex by the cabins was the best I've ever seen. Individual, lockable, LARGE full bathroom units that were spotlessly clean. I had a shower, sink, and toilet, on a CLEAN floor all to myself for as long as I needed to get ready in the morning.
I would recommend this park to others in a heartbeat !

We stayed at the Snake River KOA on our trip to Grand Teton NP. It was a reasonable commute to and from the park, with the campground just south of Jackson and the park just north of Jackson. We stayed in one of the kabins overlooking the river. It was clean and well-maintained and the location was perfect! The staff was friendly and we really enjoyed being picked up right at the campground for our Dave Hansen whitewater rafting trip! The kids had fun playing on the beach by the river too. The bathrooms were cleaner than the last KOA we stayed at, though we often trekked to the ones up near the office since the stalls and showers are separate there and the wait times were shorter. There are never enough bathrooms/showers at campgrounds in general, espeically if you are "lucky" enough to be there at the same time as a large youth group like we were...but this KOA's facilities were more than adequate and, as I said, they kept them clean in spite of the youth group :) Another plus was a nice office/store/and gift shop. My daughter found some great souveniers there and was most happy about that. We will definitely stay with Snake River KOA on future trips to the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a kabin with a view of the river.

Stayed overnite in the studio kabin with a friend while attending a concert at the Grand Teton Music Festival. This KOA campground feels well managed, busy with rafting trips. There is a variety of different cabin sizes as well as tent sites and RV sites. We wanted a unit with a private bathroom and this one had a compact one with nice hot water tub/shower, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, comfortable queen bed and 2 small bunk beds that would have been great for small children. A nice porch with a swinging bench, plenty of trees, overlooking the Snake River. Easy to find, not far from Jackson, quiet, clean. Will stay here again. It was a reasonable price given the ridiculous rates of hotel rooms in Jackson during the summer.
