We stayed at the Virginian Lodge after the LOTOJA race and had breakfast here the next morning. The staff was friendly and stopped to ask our cyclists about their ride. The food was good and the service was quick. We beat the mad rush by sending a few folks from our party 20 minutes early. I would suggest that for larger groups or even if one person is ready and the other is working on the finishing touches of being ready when staying at the Lodge.

Simple surroundings. I had salmon, baked potato and green veg which was cooked well, tasted good and was very reasonably priced. My partner had meat and veg and said it tasted very good. They do not serve alcohol. It had many locals dining there and seems
to be a place that has inspired loyalty.

Stopped here for breakfast around 10am. There was a wait but the tables turned quickly so not too long before we were seated. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Staff was very attentive and hustling the whole time. Many locals were eating there which is my signal that this is a good place.

On a tour, and arrived at the virginian lodge, instead of going into town ,checked a few places near where we were staying. Several in our group looked at their menu and decided to go there. Decor very sparse. They were out of items for dinner. It was like eating food from the 50's. I don't remember if even bread was served. They had limited desserts. Our breakfast since we were a large group was in a private area adjacent to the dining room. It was the worst breakfast I have ever experienced. We had to toast our own bread with a toaster that didn't work. Potatoes were so white, bland and tasteless, should have been brown. Left with barely eating, totally repulsive.

Breakfast was excellent. The pancakes were the best, bacon was perfectly cooked and the omelet fillings were generous.
